Senior Manager, Global Operations Finance – JV Finance (Japan Operations)

Location: Yokkaichi, Mie, Japan (Hybrid work arrangement available, including the Nagoya office and remote work)

Reports To: Director, Global Operations Finance (located in US)

Direct Reports: 3 Senior Analysts

Position Summary

Support the financial management and governance of the Sandisk Joint Ventures (JV) and Japan manufacturing operations. Serve as the primary finance liaison for day-to-day engagement with JV partner and support operational finance activities including manufacturing cost reporting, forecasting, capital governance, fixed assets, treasury operations, government subsidy administration, audit support, and financial compliance.

Partner closely with JV Finance (US Operations), Fab Operations, Engineering, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and JV partner stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, adherence to internal controls, and effective execution of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • JV Finance & Business Partnership
    • Serve as the primary finance liaison with JV partner finance teams.
    • Coordinate monthly JV financial reviews and support resolution of operational, financial, and accounting matters.
    • Support JV governance, reporting, funding, and compliance activities.
    • Coordinate information requests for management reviews, audits, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Manufacturing Finance & Planning
    • Analyze key manufacturing cost drivers, including labor, utilities, maintenance, materials, and overhead expenses.
    • Provide operational finance support to manufacturing and engineering and site leadership.
  • Capital Governance & Fixed Asset Management
    • Coordinate capital expenditure approval processes and supporting documentation.
    • Administer workflow tools and approval requirements for equipment, facility, and infrastructure investments.
    • Support fixed asset capitalization, transfers, inventory verification, reconciliation, and disposal activities.
    • Maintain records and documentation supporting internal controls, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • METI Subsidy Administration & Compliance
    • Coordinate data collection, documentation, and reporting activities supporting METI subsidy programs.
    • Track qualifying expenditures, reporting milestones, and compliance requirements.
    • Serve as a liaison among Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and JV partner teams.
    • Support internal and external audits related to government incentive programs.
  • Treasury, Cash Operations & Financial Governance
    • Support JV funding, wafer settlements, loan funding activities, and cash planning processes.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and financial governance requirements.
  • Audit, Compliance & Process Improvement
    • Coordinate internal and external audit requests and supporting documentation.
    • Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency and control effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of three Senior Analysts.
    • Manage workload prioritization, performance management, and employee development.
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of finance experience, including manufacturing, operations finance, or accounting.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business partnering.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and enterprise financial systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Semiconductor or manufacturing industry experience.
  • Basic knowledge of JGAAP, IFRS and US GAAP
  • Fixed asset accounting and capital governance experience.
  • Treasury or cash operations experience.
  • Experience working in multinational business environments.
