What Can You Expect?

We are seeking an experienced Investment Operations Associate Director to join our global Investment Administration & Accounting (IAA) function in Barcelona. As an Investment Operations Associate Director you will have the opportunity to:

• Managing the end-to-end processing, posting, and clearing of transactions related to private debt instruments
• Overseeing income payments, capital calls, distributions, and lifecycle events for private market assets
• Ensuring accurate and timely month-end closing activities for private debt instruments and alternative investments products
• Performing monthly reconciliations of private asset holdings, alternative investments products and related cash accounts
• Acting as a subject matter expert for private markets operations, supporting internal initiatives, system enhancements, and client-specific requirements.
• Collaborating with investment teams, custodians, and third-party administrators to resolve complex operational issues.
• Leading automation and digitalization efforts tailored to the nuances of private and illiquid assets
• Leading the development, enhancement, and maintenance of internal controls and quality assurance processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation across investment accounting and reporting activities.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 7-10 or more years of experience in the Investment Operations area AND Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience working with private debt asset classes and alternative investments products

• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• A proactive, solutions focused mindset to support reporting and operational activities.
• Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and evolving Operational requirements.
• Ability to work independently while managing day to day priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to cultivate and manage productive relationships with internal stakeholders, key business partners, asset managers, and custodians, with a particular emphasis on supporting private debt operations and alternative investment products
• Strong motivation to stay current with emerging technologies, including the practical application of AI features, to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Ability to enhance and standardize processes across regions, leveraging technology, automation, and cross team collaboration to drive efficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational workflows and contribute to cross functional initiatives, particularly within private markets.
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills, with the ability to resolve operational issues and escalate more complex matters appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• CFA designation is an advantage.
• 4–5 years of experience in investment operations, financial markets, banking, or insurance, with exposure to private debt and alternative investment products.
• Experience with FSCM, FAM, or TRM modules in SAP Treasury; financial technical skills are an asset.
