Job Description

Do you have experience working with shipowners and the marine industry? Are you motivated by growing the business through shaft-line solutions, condition monitoring and reliability solutions?

Then you could be our next

Key Account Manager Marine

SKF is investing in the marine industry across the Nordic region, with this role primarily focused on the Danish market. The position is a key part of our long-term growth strategy, aimed at building sustainable, value-creating partnerships with shipowners and other marine-industry stakeholders. Rather than focusing on short-term sales, the objective is to develop strategic customer relationships that help customers improve reliability, performance and operational efficiency over the long term.

As Key Account Manager Marine, you will work closely with shipowners and other industry stakeholders, understand their operational challenges, and translate technical solutions into clear commercial value. You will represent SKF Marine’s shaft-line solutions, including Simplex and BlueRun products and bearing solutions, as well as other SKF products and services such as condition monitoring and RecondOil solutions. In the role of trusted customers partner, you will manage current accounts, expand business, and identify new sales opportunities with support from SKF’s expert organization.

This role is suited to someone who understands the business of shipowners and other marine-industry stakeholders and enjoys turning technical solutions into customer value and long-term partnerships.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and support existing customer accounts.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Danish marine industry.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with shipowners and other key marine-industry stakeholders.
  • Negotiate agreements and manage key accounts to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate closely with technical experts, product management and other internal stakeholders.
  • Grow and develop SKF’s business in shaft-line solutions, condition monitoring and other reliability-focused offerings.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to support strategic decision-making.
  • Report on current sales performance and forecast future sales.

Key requirements

  • Solid Experience in B2B sales within the marine industry, together with an understanding of the industry’s operations and needs.
  • A solid commercial mindset and the ability to identify and create growth opportunities.
  • Experience with shaft line solutions and a good understanding of reliability-based concepts and the value they deliver to customers.
  • Experience with condition monitoring is seen as a benefit.
  • The ability to understand technical solutions and communicate them clearly from a business perspective.
  • A relevant university degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Fluency in English. Danish is essential for the role, while proficiency in other Nordic languages is considered an advantage.

Due to the customer-facing nature of the position, the role involves regular travel to customer sites and collaboration both at SKF locations and remotely.

You will thrive in this role if you

  • Enjoy customer-facing work in which building trust, developing long-term relationships and gaining a deep understanding of customers’ businesses are central.
  • Be responsible of your work, operate independently and manage your sales opportunities in a structured, goal-oriented way.
  • Are motivated by solving customers’ real challenges through consultative selling.
  • Collaborate effectively with different stakeholders and communicate clearly with both customers and internal experts.

What we offer

  • A strategically important role at the heart of SKF’s Nordic Marine business.
  • Comprehensive onboarding and support from an experienced expert organization to help you build confidence in the role.
  • A modern and supportive work environment, together with a flexible hybrid working model that offers opportunities for professional development and a long-term career.
  • A flexible hybrid working model.
  • A competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives.
  • The opportunity to work with leading shipowners, shipyards and other marine-industry stakeholders in Denmark and across the Nordic region.
