The successful candidate will contribute to data-driven decision-making by supporting data validation, database maintenance, applied research, product development, and multi-stakeholder communications. A solid grounding in agronomy or natural sciences is essential; expertise in carbon footprint analysis — including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions across agricultural value chains — is a strong asset. This role offers the opportunity to grow expertise in insetting, increasing farm adaptation to climate change events and developing products that will support climate mitigation and adaptation for our industry. This position may be based in any country where ECOM Group has an office presence, including Switzerland, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium or Netherland. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Applicants must already hold a valid work permit authorising them to work in one of these countries.
Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Studies, or a closely related field.
Technical Knowledge Solid understanding of agronomy and agricultural production systems (crop physiology, soil science, farming practices). Familiarity with GHG accounting principles and carbon footprint methodologies (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064/14067, PAS 2050). Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (Excel, Power BI) is required; experience with Python, R, or SQL is a plus. Basic Knowledge of food and agricultural supply chains and associated sustainability challenges.
Languages Full professional proficiency in English, French, and Spanish — written and spoken — is mandatory.
Soft Skills Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. Collaborative, pro-active and innovative. Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks under deadlines. Clear, concise written and oral communication skills.
Hands-on experience with carbon footprint analysis, scientific climate research and the development of tools Familiarity with sustainability standards (Rainforest Alliance, EU regulations, ISO 14064) Knowledge of remote sensing tools, geospatial analysis (QGIS, ArcGIS), or crop monitoring platforms.
