SBP

SBP is a national non-profit organization founded in 2006 and headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, dedicated to shrinking the time between disaster and recovery. Co-founded by Liz McCartney and Zack Rosenburg following Hurricane Katrina, the organization began its work in St. Bernard Parish, where thousands of families were left homeless. SBP takes a holistic approach to disaster resilience, focusing on rebuilding homes, strengthening community preparedness, and improving systems that serve the needs of all Americans. Using the Toyota Production System and trained AmeriCorps members, SBP has rebuilt homes for more than 6,300 families with the support of 150,000 volunteers across 14 communities in the U.S. and the Bahamas. Today, the organization employs more than 600 people dedicated to advancing disaster recovery and resilience nationwide.
