Founded in 1985 in Austin, Texas, Sandalwood Management, Inc. is a real estate company that began with a focus on multifamily residential property management. Following its 1988 acquisition by Joel Ospovat, the firm diversified and expanded operations across 14 states and Puerto Rico, adding commercial real estate to its portfolio. In 2000, Sandalwood entered the Canadian market through the acquisition of 13 shopping malls in Quebec, and today it is dually headquartered in Austin, Texas, and Montreal, Quebec. The company now owns and manages more than 75 commercial properties and 49 multifamily communities across North America, encompassing 7 million square feet of retail and office space and more than 7,100 multifamily residential units. With more than 170 employees, Sandalwood Management has built a reputation as an astute and enterprising property buyer, lessor, and manager, delivering above-market returns for its investors.
