Founded in 1939, King County Housing Authority (KCHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing and support services to residents of the Seattle metropolitan region. As an independent municipal corporation, KCHA assists more than 23,000 households daily and supports over 55,000 residents earning below the county median income through housing programs and services such as education, job training, and social assistance. The organization is led by President/CEO Robin Walls, supported by a Board of five volunteer Commissioners and a senior leadership cabinet of eight, and employs more than 450 full-time staff at its headquarters in Tukwila, Washington. Guided by its mission to deliver innovative, effective, and equitable housing solutions, KCHA works to end homelessness, improve educational outcomes for low-income youth, and ensure dignity for elderly and disabled households across King County.
