Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC) is a state-funded nonprofit providing individual and family services to people with developmental disabilities across Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties. Founded in 1966 as one of California's first pilot regional centers, GGRC helped lay the groundwork for the statewide system later formalized under the Lanterman Mental Retardation Services Act of 1969, which today encompasses 21 regional centers serving more than 300,000 Californians. Over the decades, expanded legislation broadened its mission to include individuals with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and autism, as well as early intervention services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays. GGRC helps individuals and families access resources that support more independent and fulfilling lives. The organization is headquartered at 1355 Market Street, Suite 220, San Francisco, CA 94103, and employs more than 340 people dedicated to serving the community.
