Carter Myers Automotive (CMA), headquartered at 100 Myers Dr, Charlottesville, Virginia, is a family and employee-owned business that has served Central Virginia since its founding in 1924. Operating in the motor vehicle manufacturing industry, CMA has grown from its origins as Stockdell-Myers Hardware in Petersburg into a multi-state dealership network spanning Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and soon Maryland, representing 18 new car brands with more than 3,000 new and used vehicles in stock. The company employs more than 140 associates, many of whom share ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan established in 1979. Now led by fourth-generation President and CEO Liza Myers Borches, the first woman to head the company, CMA continues to uphold its founding values of honesty, integrity, customer service, and community involvement.
