The Opportunity:

We are seeking highly skilled Joint Expeditionary Team (JET) Members as Part Time on Call (PTOC) to support USAFRICOM J34 Force Protection and Mission Assurance operations. JET Members play a critical role in preparing U.S. Forces for combat deployments and contingency operations, providing embedded operational advice, pre-deployment analysis, and support throughout the deployment cycle. This position is integral to enhancing readiness, integrating emerging technologies, and advancing mission assurance across the USAFRICOM AOR.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy, as requested, to inform and assist organizations, enhance situational awareness, identify critical capability gaps, improve processes, procedures and strategies, assist with the integration of material/non-material solutions, and reduce risk to force/mission.
• Provide C-IT (Counter-Improvised Threat), C-WMD (Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction), and C-UXS (Counter-Unmanned Systems) analysis, training support, countermeasure integration, and Tactics/Techniques/Procedures (TTP) best practices to U.S. Forces before, during, and after deployments.
• Plan and preserve the effectiveness and survivability of mission-related and non-military personnel, equipment, facilities, information, and infrastructure.
• Utilizing the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) and Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), support staff planning efforts and provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) advise encompassing Antiterrorism, Defense Critical Infrastructure, Mission Assurance, Emergency Management, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosive (CBRNE), and Counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems.
• Embed with USAFRICOM J34 and Service Component personnel to provide analysis, of C-IT, C-WMD, and C-UXS operations and equipment in deployed environments.
• Conduct research and analysis across all operational environments and the joint campaign continuum and provide Force Protection input and recommendations through participation in Joint Staff, USAFRICOM, and Service Component planning groups.
• Develop and present concepts, plans, annexes, and procedures to assure protection requirements are considered and implemented.
• Assist USAFRICOM J34 with the identification, training, and integration of enduring and emerging C-IT, C-WMD, and UAS technologies. Identify, plan, and execute pre-deployment actions to ensure smooth future deployment and reach-back capabilities.
• Advise and assist units throughout pre-deployment training and exercise phases, including Mission Rehearsal Exercises, Field Training Exercises, and Command Post Exercises, and Validation Exercises.
• Provide research, analysis, and exercise development support to Combat Training Centers, units, interagency groups, and training commands.
• Attend and participate in pre-deployment training on evolving operational planning subjects.
• Observe, collect, analyze, recommend, and disseminate emerging friendly force and enemy TTPs and counter-measure best practices.
• Develop and produce analyses, assessments, and training requirements that enable the fusion of analysis, operations, and material/non-material solutions.

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in military operations, defense technology, or related fields.
• Expertise in C-IT, C-WMD, C-UXS, and familiarity with emerging technologies and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in exercise development, training, and operational planning.
• Familiarity with USAFRICOM operations and Joint Force structure.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Valid U.S. Passport with at least 2 years before expiration.

Desired

• Experience working with AFRICOM or other Combatant Commands.
• Background in innovation and experimentation methodologies.
• Knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
• Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is: $90,300-$189,600
