Job Type: Full-time

The Vice President of Sales for School Services at Music & Arts will be the change for a legacy, retail-driven organization into a disciplined, relationship-based, community-anchored B2B sales engine that delivers predictable growth and high cultural engagement. This executive leader will drive the transformation and performance acceleration of the Music & Arts Field Organization — a national education-focused sales team serving schools, districts, and music educators across the United States. A critical focus will be to rebuild structure, cadence, and accountability across the field, while fostering a modern, high-performance sales culture rooted in belief, coaching, and community engagement. This is not a maintenance role. It is a leadership position for a proven sales executive capable of evolving a legacy retail-driven organization into a disciplined, relationship-based B2B2C sales engine — integrating people, process, and performance systems to achieve scalable, predictable growth.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Organizational Transformation & Strategic Leadership: Lead the complete transformation of the Music & Arts School Services Sales organization from a retail service model to a true B2B relationship and performance culture. Define, communicate, and execute a clear sales strategy aligned with company revenue, margin, and growth goals. Partner closely with the President of GC Business Solutions and the executive team to drive consistent messaging, structure, and accountability. Establish a “culture of coaching” that emphasizes ownership, optimism, and execution. Establish modern sales processes, cadence, and performance discipline across all field roles.
  • High-Performance Team & Leader Development: Build scalable leadership capability with District Managers, Account Managers (Educational Representatives), and Business Development Representatives. Ensure leaders operate within defined cadences: daily activity management, weekly coaching, and structured pipeline reviews. Evaluate leadership readiness and restructure underperforming regions as needed. Elevate or exit talent to ensure the right leaders are in the right seats.
  • Revenue Growth & Market Development: Drive top-line growth through new school acquisition, expanded district relationships, and retention of existing programs. Drives new school acquisition and deepens district and educator partnerships. Align the sales structure with opportunity potential (school density, TAM, and program penetration). Expand market share across rentals, repairs, and ensemble programs volume through stronger educator engagement. Collaborate with the Guitar Center Music Foundation (GCMF) and Marketing for community-based fundraising and awareness campaigns.
  • Operational & Sales Excellence: Ensures Salesforce adoption, CRM rigor, and SLA compliance. Deploys or partners with operational functions (RLCs, Ops, Finance) to streamline non-selling tasks. Champions technology adoption to improve productivity and visibility.
  • Compensation, Accountability & Performance Systems: Redesign compensation and incentive structures tied to activity, accountability, and community impact. Build dashboards and KPIs that align to leading indicators and revenue-producing behavior. Instill transparency and clarity around expectations, rewards, and consequences.
  • Culture Leadership: Models “Above the Line” leadership behaviors consistently. Fosters optimism, belief, coaching, and cross-functional partnership. Raises employee engagement and trust scores through consistent tone and action.

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • 10+ years in progressive sales leadership roles, with at least 5 years leading distributed field organizations.
  • Proven success transforming or scaling a sales team within an education, music, or service-based B2B environment.
  • Deep understanding of relationship-based sales, pipeline discipline, and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, reset culture, and build belief within legacy organizations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including compensation design, P&L literacy, and ROI-driven decision-making.
  • Inspirational leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Data-driven mindset with command of sales analytics and CRM tools (Salesforce proficiency required).
  • Excellent communication and executive presence.
  • Ability to balance cultural transformation with operational execution.
  • Passion for music education, community impact, and youth development.
