Facilitator (field based)

ERM is hiring an Inuk Facilitator to support the planning, delivery, and reporting of a multi-day forum. This forum will bring together representatives from boards, governments, Indigenous organizations, and other northern partners to discuss how environmental review and permitting processes work in the north and identify opportunities for collaboration.

The successful candidate will serve as a co-facilitator for a 2.5-day workshop taking place October 20-22, 2026, at the Canadian High Arctic Research Station (CHARS) in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. The facilitator will help create an inclusive and productive environment for discussion while ensuring Inuit perspectives and northern realities are reflected throughout the process.

This is a part-time, limited-term role with a duration of 4 weeks involving preparation, workshop delivery, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Bring knowledge of Inuit perspectives, community priorities, and northern realities to support effective engagement and dialogue.
• Attend and support planning meetings, and ongoing coordination with project teams and the project steering committees.
• Assist with development of facilitation agendas, preparation booklets, process decks, and participant materials.
• Co-facilitate an in-person multi-day workshop.
• Support small group discussions and report-back sessions.
• Encourage inclusive participation and support productive dialogue among diverse participants.
• Contribute to meeting documentation, reporting, and synthesis of key discussion themes, actions, and next steps.
• Promote a professional, collaborative, and respectful working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

We recognize that relevant experience can be gained through many pathways. Ideal candidates will demonstrate some combination of the following:

• Experience facilitating meetings, community discussions, workshops, committee meetings, or other collaborative discussions is considered an asset.
• Experience working with Inuit organizations, communities, boards, committees, or governance bodies.
• Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build relationships and create a welcoming environment for participants.
• Knowledge of Nunavut and northern issues, governance, or regulatory processes is considered an asset.
• Comfort using email, Microsoft Office applications, and virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
• Access to a reliable personal computer and internet connection to participate in virtual planning meetings, review materials, and complete project-related tasks. Project materials will be provided electronically.

Schedule

Work will occur between September and October 2026 and will include planning meetings, preparation activities, workshop delivery, and reporting support. Attendance in Cambridge Bay is required from October 20-22, 2026. Some flexibility may be required to accommodate project schedules and participant availability.

For the Facilitator position, the anticipated annual base pay is $55.33-$84.87 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay subject to the sole discretion of ERM and its policies and procedures (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
