About The Role
The Executive, Field Sales is responsible for supervising and coordinating sales teams to achieve sales targets across assigned businesses and territories, contributing to DKSH's overall Consumer Goods business objectives in Malaysia. This role drives consistent commercial outcomes by executing effective sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and maintaining high standards of field sales performance.
What You Will Deliver
- Support the management of day-to-day operating expenditures against operating budgets to ensure efficient and responsible use of resources
- Prepare and implement sales action plans including route planning and regular customer calls and visits to achieve sales targets across assigned businesses and territories
- Track team progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and sales plans to maintain performance visibility and drive accountability
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to team members on the execution of sales action plans and individual development areas
- Execute sales activities for assigned territories, including product portfolio management, marketing plan introductions, order taking, marketing display set-ups, and in-store merchandising
- Prepare and review quotations, proposals, and contracts to facilitate and close sales agreements
- Monitor competitor activities and products, produce competition reports based on merchandising data, and recommend practical actions to counter competitive threats
- Prepare sales reports and projected sales and margin forecasts, tracking and highlighting unusual fluctuations in customer demand to enable informed decision-making
- Coordinate continuous improvement activities to enhance sales processes, sales plans, and customer satisfaction, while tracking and ensuring timely collection of payments from customers
- Investigate, resolve, and log customer issues, advising on appropriate follow-up actions, while maintaining strong customer relationships through regular engagement, query resolution, and proactive order solicitation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely product delivery and support the development of strong relationships with key customers
- Guide and support the team to ensure effective delivery of shared goals and sales targets
- Drive team learning and development in Field Sales practices and DKSH values, while pursuing continuous self-improvement to strengthen personal and team effectiveness
- Administrative duties and coordination tasks as required
What You Bring
- Minimum SPM, Diploma or certification in Business Administration, Marketing Studies, or a relevant educational background will be an added advantage
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of sales or relevant experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry
- Good working knowledge and understanding of the industry, market, competitors, and customers
- Good working knowledge of assigned territories, products, and services, with strong selling skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage effectively across diverse customer groups
- Basic research and analytical skills
- Proficiency in office productivity tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Fluency in the local language and, ideally, in English, both written and spoken. Able to converse in Chinese will be an added advantage as will require to liaise with Chinese speaking customers.
