Job Summary

Manages sleep labs, pulmonary labs, pulmonary rehabs, and RCS in satellite facilities to ensure continuity of practices within System, requiring continuous travel and ability to work with minimal supervision. Ensures high quality patient care, cost effective services, policy development, protocol program implementation, performance improvement, and staff professional development. Responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical and professional practices in accordance with accepted national standards and Prisma Health policies. Oversees the operations for mandatory safety programs, directly supervises Shift Coordinator in a variety of satellite locations and clinical modalities, while indirectly supervising RRT, RPSGT, and all support staff positions; to ensure continuous adherence with the operation budget, clinical and professional performance expectations and supports Mangers. Collaborates to effect change management, aligns and communicates the vision of the department and GHS to the entire team; assists with recruitment and assures professional development of all employees. Works closely with Medical Directors, Physicians, Directors of Nursing and other levels of leadership to achieve goals of each satellite location including the organization as a whole. Acts in a leadership capacity to promote and advocate professional conduct, advancement of evidenced based Clinical Practices and is able to participate in research and publishing.

Essential Functions

Provides visible leadership for staff in all areas and locations; directly supporting activities relating to education, equipment, supplies, evaluations, shift labor allocation, professionalism and clinical performance. Recruits staff to maintain appropriate workforce levels in conjunction with administration and budgetary requirements.

Monitors the expense budget, revenue performance and resource allocation. Participates in budget process at all facilities to ensure accuracy and overall continuity. Reviews budgetary reporting on a monthly basis, making adjustments as necessary to meet annual goals.

Monitors patient and employee satisfaction. Processes customer complaints per hospital policy. Creates process improvement initiatives for these areas measuring outcomes for success.

Aligns the vision of the Prisma Health, mission, goals, roles and responsibilities as applicable to RCS.

Achieves and maintains accreditation in areas where applicable. Leads staff in efforts to meet accreditation requirements. Partners with Medical Directors in their role to monitor quality measures required for continuous accreditation. Creates and maintains a quality program unique to each area of responsibility that insures excellent patient care. Addresses safety concerns in a manner that fosters a safe environment for patients and staff alike.

Assists with development, implementation and evaluation of existing and new services, programs, policies and procedures, clinical and professional performance standards.

Serves on leadership committees in multiple locations. Participates in AOC program in multiple locations.

Fosters a working relationship with physicians that inspire participation and input. Acts as a resource for clinical and administrative issues.

Travels between all satellite facilities as needed (up to 75% of time could be worked in locations other than "base office"). Is responsible for managing respiratory modalities in multiple facilities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Respiratory Care, Education or related field of study. Master's degree in respiratory care or related field of study preferred

Experience - Five (5) years related work experience. Research experience preferred. Supervisory/management experience.

In Lieu Of

In lieu of education and experience requirements listed above, an equivalent combination of work/academic experience may be considered (i.e., Associate degree with seven years related experience and supervisory/management experience)

RRT REG RESPIRATORY THERAPIST - CRRT
RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTIONER - LRCP

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of applicable legal, regulatory, agencies (Joint Commission, DEHC, OSHA, CAP)
Knowledge of requirements including Laws and Regulations pertaining to the practice of Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Function as outlined by the South Carolina Board of Licensure.
Advanced knowledge of clinical and healthcare business practices for a large complex health system which has Sleep Centers, Respiratory Care and Diagnostic Service Departments with 24-hour responsibility.
