Field Compliance Summer Associate

We are looking for a Field Compliance Summer Associate to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Ardrossan and Sherwood Park, AB.

Locations: Ardrossan, AB and Sherwood Park, AB

Contract Duration: 4-6 months (Summer 2027)

Wage: $25 - $32 / Hour

During peak periods in the season, overtime will be paid for evenings or weekends.

The Teams

• Agronomic Excellence: Working with mid-sized research plots, you will assist in evaluating new and up-and-coming hybrid canola varieties along with agronomic research trials. There are also opportunities to assist with and attend sales tours in the area.
• Breeding Operations: Working with small sized research plots, you will assist in evaluating potential Parental and hybrid canola varieties being developed for the market. There will be additional opportunities to work with disease research, hybrid production, and parental nurseries (dependent on location).
• Trait Development Operations: Working with small sized research plots, you will assist in evaluating potential hybrid canola varieties and traits not yet on the market. Confined field trial monitoring is also a key component of these positions.

Students will be hired and employed through a third-party contracting agency - Raise Recruiting. Opportunities are based on business needs at our sites. Candidates resumes will be presented to BASF based on requirements of the assignments being a match and fit based on experience. As a Field Compliance Summer Associate, you create chemistry by...

• Supporting trial activities to develop and evaluate canola hybrids.
• Supporting the full crop cycle — from seed prep and planting to pest control, pollination, and harvest.
• Monitoring crop health and collecting data to support hybrid and parental selection.
• Helping with field logistics and supervising casual staff when needed.

If you have...

• Studied/studying Agriculture or a related field.
• Genuine interest in agronomics, plant breeding, hybrid development, or field research.
• Enjoyed solving problems and adapting to changing field conditions.
• Want to gain real-world experience in a global agri-business.
• Worked independently or as part of a team.
• Current Class 5 Alberta Driver's License (for Alberta positions specifically).
• Bonus: You have worked on a farm or with machinery - but it is not required.
