Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, transports specimens, reports, and supplies between various hospitals and medical facilities and the main laboratory.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Provides quality service to clients through communication, picking up specimens, delivering lab results, and supplies.
- Operates company vehicle. Responsibilities include safety of vehicle, updated maintenance sheet, safe and defensive driving of vehicle.
- Maintains route sheet.
- Communicates with dispatch by radio, beeper, or telephone.
- Provides training to new drivers on all functions of job duties.
- Job requires computer skills to create and verify transport lists.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
Job involves frequent communication in person, by radio and writing. Pickup and deliveries may weigh up to 25 pounds. Must be able to operate Company vehicle in a safe, defensive driving manner. Must be able to record time and other necessary information accurately. Job requires frequent communication by radio system, beeper or telephone.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to train new drivers on job functions.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires valid Arizona driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
