Job purpose

The VP of Growth for Financial Solutions is a senior leader responsible for owning and scaling new-business revenue for BELAY's Financial Solutions business, with a primary focus on small and midsize businesses (SMBs). Our services include bookkeeping, outsourced accounting, controller, tax, payroll and fractional CFO support. This role blends executive leadership with hands-on sales leadership. You'll build the foundation for Financial Solutions' growth, including the strategy, playbooks, partner programs, and metrics that allow the business to scale. You'll lead the outbound and business development team day-to-day, owning pipeline and revenue results. You'll also stay close to the customer by personally opening doors, helping close key deals, and representing BELAY with strategic partners and key industry stakeholders. This role reports to the CMO and partners closely with the SVP of Revenue (inbound sales) and the VP of Growth for Assistant Solutions to advance company-wide growth priorities.

Duties and responsibilities

• Lead Outbound Revenue Growth & Business Development
• Own outbound and business development pipeline and monthly/quarterly revenue targets.
• Manage daily seller activity, follow-up, and accountability; review funnel and pipeline performance weekly.
• Coach and develop sellers through ride-alongs, deal reviews, and training (virtual or on-site).
• Recruit and develop top talent, and make timely talent decisions to keep the team performing.
• Carry a personal book of strategic deals and join prospect calls to support deal strategy, objection handling and closing.
• Partner with the SVP of Revenue on shared pipeline, handoffs, and education across inbound and outbound.
• Lead the sales team day-to-day. Manage seller activity, follow-up, and accountability through BELAY’s tech stack (Salesforce, Outreach, Gong). Hold sellers to clear standards for outreach volume, pipeline creation, and conversion.
• Run weekly pipeline and funnel reviews. Inspect deal health, remove roadblocks, and advance opportunities. Keep the forecast accurate and on track to monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
• Strengthen how the team sells. Coach sellers on deal strategy, objection handling, and closing through ride-alongs, Gong call reviews, and joining prospect calls. Make sure messaging stays consistent with Marketing and with the inbound team led by the SVP of Revenue.
• Develop Strategic Partnerships & Channels
• Source, negotiate, and manage a select set of high-impact partnerships that drive qualified SMB opportunities.
• Identify, develop, and strengthen strategic partnerships with industry organizations, technology providers, professional service firms, and referral networks to expand BELAY’s market reach, generate qualified leads, and drive new business opportunities.
• Represent BELAY externally at partner meetings, industry events and conferences.
• Establish partner expectations, referral targets and ROI tracking; refine or sunset partnerships that aren't delivering.
• Drive SMB & Owner-Led Growth
• Develop sales motions that resonate with founder-led, owner-operated and growth-stage businesses.
• Apply industry and end-market knowledge (e.g., inventory-based businesses, ecommerce, consumer products) to improve relevance and close rates.
• Partner with Marketing on ICP, messaging, and targeting for owner-led businesses.
• Growth Strategy, Operations & Data
• Shape the Financial Solutions growth strategy, forecast and long-term plan with the Officers and Board.
• Build repeatable outbound and partner playbooks, performance standards and operating rhythms.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards and forecasting that guide resource allocation and investment decisions.
• Partner with Revenue Operations to run the team in BELAY's approved tech stack (Salesforce, Outreach, Gong).
• Partner with Marketing, Operations, Finance and Delivery so growth aligns with capacity, client experience and margin goals.
• Develop and maintain deep expertise in BELAY’s services and solutions, serving as a champion and advocate both internally and externally to drive awareness, adoption, and growth.

Qualifications

Required

• 10+ years of experience in sales, revenue, growth, or business development within accounting services, outsourced finance, or professional services.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role with direct ownership of revenue outcomes.
• Proven experience scaling outbound sales organizations and senior sales leaders.
• Demonstrated success building outbound, enterprise, or partnership-led growth motions—not solely optimizing inbound demand.
• Deep background in consultative, B2B service-based selling with complex buying journeys.
• Experience selling to CEOs, CFOs, Business Owners, Controllers, and senior finance leadership.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at the CEO, Board, and enterprise-client level.

Preferred

• Experience working in or alongside PE-backed, multi-entity, or acquisitive environments.
• Familiarity with account-based selling models and long-cycle enterprise deals.
• Experience partnering closely with Marketing on ICP definition, messaging, and demand strategy.

Pay Range: $165K - $175K + commission Starting Pay Range: $165,000 as noted in range above, based on candidate experience / qualifications Other Types of Pay: Bonus and Commission Health Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance are available to eligible employees. BELAY covers 70% of employee premiums and 65% of dependent premiums for medical, and 70% of employee premiums for dental and vision. Company-paid life insurance ($15,000 coverage) and short-term/long-term disability coverage (STD: 60% of weekly earnings up to $1,500; LTD: 60% of monthly earnings up to $10,000) are provided at no cost to full-time employees. Retirement Benefits: 401(k) plan through Vanguard, with a 4% discretionary employer match. Employees are eligible after 90 days of employment. Paid Time Off: Full-time (40 hr/week) employees receive 15 days of PTO annually; full-time (30 hr/week) employees receive 12 days. Additional PTO is awarded at 3- and 5-year tenure milestones.
