Mill Creek Residential is an industry leader in telecommunications, and the Telecommunications Manager will be responsible for leading and maintaining our top of class telecom strategy and continuing to guide us to expand revenue opportunities. The Telecommunications (Telecom) Manager will be responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and negotiating telecom contracts for Mill Creek Residential’s communities. They will need to keep up with new regulations, industry trends, and they will be expected to communicate and educate Mill Creek on their findings.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Work across departments to create project specific telecom strategies
  • Serve as the main point of contact with our telecommunications lawyers for project kick off calls, proposal gathering, regular project updates, contract reviews, and contract negotiations
  • Create revenue models and documentation of telecom summaries for each project
  • Work with providers to stay up to date on regional standards and nuances such as revenue sharing, wiring standards, termination clauses, etc.
  • Assist project teams with account setup and ordering when ready to turn up services to ensure negotiated contract requirements are met
  • Coordinate with onsite teams for the installation of services and the commissioning of services with our infrastructure team
  • Participate with NMHC telecom groups to follow updated FCC rulings and regulations
  • Develop relationships with national providers, both bulk and retail
  • Work across teams during contract renewals, renegotiations, and retrofit providers
  • Serve as the main point of contact to our onsite teams for ISP issues
  • Must be able to perform work from remote locations as needed

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in the areas of telecommunications as defined above
  • Multifamily residential industry experience preferred
  • Construction and Engineering industry experience preferred

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Real Estate, Multifamily, Telecommunications, and overall technology trends
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with strong analysis skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to relate well to all kinds of people, both inside and outside the organization
