Tax manager - state & local tax (salt)

What's the role?

State & Local Tax Managers are a key part of the business tax team responsible for managing client relationships while ensuring multi-state tax compliance and consulting projects are produced and delivered within expected timelines. This includes:

• Preparing and reviewing multi-state tax returns and filings.
• Advising clients on state and local tax issues
• Researching state and local tax regulations and their impact on client operations.
• Building new and strengthening existing client relationships while demonstrating knowledge of clients' businesses and operations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Communicating and meeting with clients as requested; providing recommendations to assist clients with state and local tax needs.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

• 5+ years in a similar role within a public accounting firm.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting highly desired or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with multi-state taxation and SALT consulting
• CPA certification highly desired or ability to attain.

What will my schedule look like?

At MBE, you'll enjoy the challenge of meeting deadlines during tax season with up to 50-60 hours weeks and the remainder of the year work 30-40 hour weeks flexing the typical Monday-Friday 8a-5p schedule around any personal passions or family time. We also welcome part time and seasonal team members!
