The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 (annualized USD). While candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the role will be considered within the posted range, placement within that range is based on the overall depth and breadth of a candidate's experience, demonstrated competencies, specialized expertise, and ability to contribute to both the position and VPD's broader organizational objectives. The salary range should be viewed as one component of VPD's broader total rewards package.

The Mid-Level Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program Integrity Analyst supports OFA’s oversight of state TANF programs by assisting with compliance reviews, desk audits, data validation, monitoring activities, and technical assistance. The analyst reviews state policies, procedures, plans, reports, financial documentation, and program data to identify potential compliance issues, reporting concerns, and program integrity risks. This role requires travel within the U.S. – approximately 6 trips per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Support TANF desk reviews, compliance monitoring, audits, and targeted program integrity reviews.
  • Analyze state TANF documentation against federal requirements.
  • Review TANF quarterly reports, ACF-202 data, Work Outcomes reporting, financial information, and supporting documentation for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Identify discrepancies, trends, missing information, or potential compliance concerns for senior or federal review.
  • Support review of requirements related to work participation, penalty provisions, EBT prohibitions, child support cooperation, immigrant eligibility, and data reporting.
  • Prepare draft issue summaries, compliance review notes, evidence logs, monitoring reports, and corrective action trackers.
  • Assist with developing monitoring tools, desk review checklists, document request lists, and technical assistance materials.
  • Track state responses, follow-up items, corrective action progress, and unresolved issues.
  • Support meetings with federal staff and, as appropriate, prepare questions, summaries, and follow-up documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze regulations, policy guidance, data, financial records, and program documentation.
  • Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with TANF or comparable human services/public benefits programs preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software: MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Outlook.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years’ experience, with 1-year direct experience supporting OFA or a related human services program.
  • Experience supporting federal or state program monitoring, compliance reviews, audits, grants oversight, or public benefits programs.
