Position Summary

Rubrik is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer based in New York, Pennsylvania, or the greater Tri-State area to provide technical leadership and business guidance to our State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) sales team across NY and PA. In this role, you will drive regional revenue goals by architecting cyber resilience solutions, delivering technical validation, and acting as a trusted advisor to public sector and education leaders.

About the Position

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to SLED customers and account partners throughout New York and Pennsylvania.
• Architect and demonstrate tailor-made Rubrik solutions focusing on cyber resilience, automated recovery, ransomware protection, and cloud data management.
• Lead technical discovery, architectural workshops, product demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs) for state agencies, municipalities, K-12 districts, and higher education institutions.
• Partner with SLED Account Executives to qualify opportunities, address complex technical RFPs/RFIs, and navigate public sector purchasing processes.
• Deliver compelling technical and executive presentations to C-level executives, IT directors, security teams, and agency heads.
• Serve as an internal subject matter expert on public sector compliance, cloud architectures, and competitive data security technologies.
• Build strong relationships with channel partners, system integrators, and ecosystem partners within the NY/PA region.

About You

• Experience: 5–7+ years of pre-sales engineering experience, ideally supporting software, cyber security, cloud infrastructure, or data protection solutions within the SLED or public sector space.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong technical foundation in cyber resilience, enterprise backup/recovery, multi-cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization, and data security standards.
• Public Sector Acumen: Experience addressing public sector procurement, RFPs, and executive-level decision-making processes across state, local, and higher education accounts.
• Communication & Executive Presence: Demonstrated capability in presenting complex technical concepts to both technical operators and CxO-level leadership.
• Execution & Drive: Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple concurrent POCs, technical calls, and field engagements with strong follow-through.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
