About the role:

Gartner is building the industry's leading Tech Market Economics capability to understand where AI creates, captures and destroys value across the technology ecosystem, from trillion-dollar infrastructure investments to the economics of technology providers. As a Senior Director Analyst, you will lead the development of a new generation of data-driven Gartner positions, partnering with our Tech Market Economics Modelling, Data Science and Data Engineering teams to uncover insights others cannot and scale their impact across Gartner's global research footprint.

The role demands exceptional judgment and intellectual curiosity. You will draw on emerging signals, novel data sources and pioneering analytical approaches, combining your expertise with the broader models, data assets and methodologies of Tech Market Economics. Success comes from recognizing when disparate signals converge to an insight worthy of Gartner's voice. The most valuable insights rarely emerge from a single dataset, model or methodology. They emerge from synthesizing multiple forms of evidence into judgements that initially appear impossible to make, but become irrefutable once the underlying economics, signals and market dynamics are understood.

This role is for the persistently curious, energized by discovering what others have yet to see, connecting seemingly unrelated signals and transforming emerging insights into market-shaping research. Through research, client engagement, media interactions and keynote presentations, you will influence executive and industry thinking as a definitive authority on Tech Market Economic trends.

What you will do:

• Develop differentiated Gartner positions on the economic impact of AI and technology disruption across markets, business models and value chains.
• Partner with the Tech Market Economics Modelling team to translate emerging signals into market-shaping research and thought leadership.
• Synthesize economics, quantitative evidence, novel data sources and domain expertise into differentiated and defensible Gartner perspectives.
• Develop research insights capable of influencing executive decisions, industry narratives and market conversations before they become broadly accepted.
• Shape the evolution of Tech Market Economics by identifying the most important market opportunities and questions to address.
• Bring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can influence the future direction of research agendas.
• Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have insights” content.
• Develop new insights and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client's needs and requests that accelerate the client's ability to act.
• Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice through virtual or face-to-face interactions.
• Create and deliver high value presentation materials Gartner conferences, Industry events, media engagements, and client briefings.
• Support Gartner sales and business development activities through differentiated market insights and executive engagement.
• Provide high quality and timely content peer review.
• Build credibility as a recognized authority on Tech Market Economic trends and represent Gartner insights, methodology and strategy.
• Actively participate in innovation, ideation and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers across Gartner.
• Be a mentor and a coach by supporting more junior team members.
• Maintain a client-centric approach focused on delivering actionable insights and measurable client value.

What you will need:

• Demonstrated experience assessing the economic, commercial and competitive implications of Agentic AI disruption across markets, products, business models or value chains.
• Experience synthesizing economic analysis, quantitative evidence, financial statements, market intelligence and business context into differentiated research, thought leadership and strategic recommendations.
• Proven ability to identify emerging economic and market shifts and translate multiple sources of evidence into compelling executive-level narratives, research judgments or business insights.
• Strong judgment in evaluating emerging signals, economic evidence and analytical findings, with the ability to determine the earliest point at which the collective weight of evidence is decision grade.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
• Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables.
• Demonstrate excellence in research and writing ability.
• Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
• Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges.
• Strong communication skills - able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply.
• Subject matter expertise; comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within subject area as well as the interplay in that market.
• Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team.
• Learning agile and adept with navigating highly matrixed environments.
• Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 172,000 USD - 202,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
