Software test engineer

We are looking for our client a Software Engineer in Test I to join its growing organization. Salary Range

Our client complies with state and federal wage and hour laws. Compensation depends on a candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, experience, and internal equity. Hourly Wage Range: $40.00 – $46.00

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software applications and test tools.
• Perform routine automation assignments with minimal supervision.
• Develop a thorough understanding of assigned automation tools, standards, techniques, and business operations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of departmental procedures, programming standards, and training materials.
• Design and develop White-box testing of applications.
• Provide time estimates for assigned tasks and improve estimating accuracy by comparing with actual time spent.
• Recommend improvements for applications.
• Conduct code reviews and collaborate with the development team.
• Communicate directly with product owners and end users.
• Participate in the training or development of team members as needed.
• Ensure automated processes run as expected and handle remediation when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• A high school diploma is required for candidates with equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of software test automation experience, including object-oriented development, working with relational databases, and writing SQL queries or stored procedures.
• Familiarity with software quality assurance procedures and best practices.
• Experience with relational database design, writing queries, and stored procedures using MySQL or Microsoft SQL.
• Preferred experience with web service development and consumption.
• Experience with XSLT, XML, JSON, HTTP, C#, and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and working with Web Services and APIs.
• Familiarity with Microsoft technologies such as Dynamics CRM, ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#, and SQL is a plus but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Primarily remote (Work-from-home environment). Must be able to sit for extended periods. Ability to speak, see, and hear personnel and objects. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to travel within the facility and use a computer keyboard and telephone. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs if needed.
