The successful candidate will collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, healthcare end users, and customer stakeholders to validate requirements; safeguard data integrity; resolve defects; and ensure healthcare applications meet quality, performance, reliability, interoperability, and compliance expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, test procedures, and traceability artifacts for healthcare applications operating in MUMPS and InterSystems Caché environments.
  • Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, defect corrections, configuration changes, system upgrades, and modernization activities.
  • Plan and perform functional, integration, regression, system, user-acceptance, end-to-end, and production-validation testing.
  • Validate healthcare business workflows, application functionality, clinical and benefits-processing scenarios, and system requirements.
  • Verify data integrity across legacy healthcare applications, FileMan databases, interfaces, healthcare messaging platforms, and external partner systems.
  • Test healthcare interoperability transactions and interfaces utilizing HL7, FHIR, HIPAA EDI, and related industry standards.
  • Validate EDI healthcare transactions, including 278 Prior Authorization and 275 Additional Information to Support a Health Care Services Review transactions.
  • Participate in Beta and Initial Operating Capability (IOC) testing with healthcare facilities, end users, and customer stakeholders; document results and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Analyze, document, troubleshoot, and support resolution of software defects, test failures, integration issues, data discrepancies, and production incidents.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, systems engineers, and end users to clarify requirements, establish test objectives, and validate solution readiness.
  • Develop and maintain test data, test environments, test accounts, and test configurations that support representative healthcare workflows and business processes.
  • Execute manual and automated testing activities, as applicable, and recommend opportunities to increase test automation and testing efficiency.
  • Track, document, communicate, and report test execution metrics, defects, risks, quality indicators, release-readiness status, and issue-resolution progress.
  • Validate integrations involving VistA, FileMan, healthcare messaging platforms, cloud-hosted services, and external partner systems.
  • Support root-cause analysis activities and perform regression testing to verify that software fixes resolve identified issues without introducing unintended impacts.
  • Review business requirements, system requirements, technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure testability, traceability, and complete test coverage.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, quality standards, test documentation, defect-management procedures, and validation methodologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on test strategy, quality-assurance practices, testing risks, and validation approaches for healthcare and government systems.
  • Mentor junior testers and support collaboration across cross-functional technical teams.

Required Skills:

  • Experience testing applications developed using MUMPS and/or InterSystems Caché.
  • Experience developing and executing detailed test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, test cases, test procedures, and test-summary reports.
  • Experience conducting functional, regression, integration, system, end-to-end, and user-acceptance testing.
  • Strong understanding of the software-development lifecycle (SDLC), software-testing methodologies, defect-management processes, and quality-assurance best practices.
  • Experience validating healthcare business workflows, application functionality, requirements, and system behavior.
  • Experience validating database updates, data transformations, interface data exchanges, and data integrity across applications and integrated systems.
  • Ability to analyze system logs, application errors, database results, interface messages, and test outcomes to identify root causes and support issue resolution.
  • Experience testing system interfaces, data exchanges, and integrations across internal applications, healthcare platforms, and external systems.

  • Experience using defect-tracking and test-management tools, including Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, TestRail, or comparable tools.
  • Experience creating and maintaining testing metrics, quality dashboards, defect reports, risk assessments, and test-status reports.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including the ability to produce clear test artifacts, defect reports, requirements-traceability documentation, and operational-support materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex software, integration, data, and production issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate test results, quality risks, and technical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work directly with business users, healthcare end users, customer stakeholders, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple testing activities, assignments, and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to ensuring software quality, reliability, patient-data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to lead testing efforts, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior testers.
