Software Solution Architect

The Role

UST is searching for a highly skilled Software Solution Architect, or hands-on architect with strong expertise in building scalable, production-ready AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in agent-based AI systems, LLM-enabled applications, and cloud-native development, with a focus on enterprise-grade implementations.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop AI/ML pipelines and intelligent applications
• Build and implement agent-based workflows and automation systems
• Develop LLM-enabled applications including prompt engineering and structured outputs
• Implement retrieval-based systems (RAG, vector search, embeddings, indexing)
• Develop and integrate APIs with backend systems
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure system reliability
• Enable observability through logging, monitoring, and tracing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable AI solutions

• Python backend development
• Agent-based / agent-oriented development
• API development and system integration
• LLM-enabled application development
• Retrieval-based systems (RAG, vector DB, embeddings)
• AWS cloud-native development
• CI/CD and environment management
• Observability (logging, monitoring, tracing)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Generative AI and NLP
• Experience deploying ML models in production
• Exposure to enterprise AI workflows and automation

Domain Experience

• AI-enabled enterprise workflows
• Agent-based systems
• Retrieval-augmented applications

Experience Required

Typically 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, Data Science, or Software Engineering and solution architecture.

Location & Compensation

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote-US

Compensation Range: $143,000-$215,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
