Servicenow agile project manager (va esom)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a ServiceNow Agile Project Manager (VA ESOM) based in United States.

This remote role serves as the day-to-day delivery anchor for a platform health team supporting a large federal ServiceNow environment.

You’ll own project schedules, staffing, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder reporting while directly facilitating Agile/Scrum practices.

The role combines traditional project management discipline with hands-on Scrum leadership in a distributed environment.

You’ll coordinate dependencies across more than 20 contractor teams and work closely with Product Owners and technical leadership.

You’ll help teams plan sprints, remove impediments, manage intake, and maintain clear delivery visibility.

Success requires strong stakeholder management, ServiceNow expertise, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a 24x7 operational setting.

Accountabilities

• Own the schedule, staffing plan, deliverable tracking, and milestone reporting for an assigned platform health team, including applicable CDRL and task-order requirements.
• Provide clear status reporting to program leadership and client stakeholders, including management of risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery concerns.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies, staffing requirements, vendor activities, and subcontractor deliverables across multiple workstreams and sprints.
• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Partner with Product Owners and the Technical Program Manager to prioritize, refine, and manage the team backlog.
• Track sprint velocity, burndown, team health, and other delivery metrics, identifying trends and risks for program leadership.
• Identify and remove impediments while escalating cross-team blockers and dependencies when additional support is required.
• Coordinate with peer Project Managers and Scrum Masters across multiple platform teams to align delivery cadence and shared dependencies.
• Coach team members on Agile principles, Scrum practices, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Support change management and release coordination for sprint deliverables within a 24x7 operational environment.
• Coordinate with distributed contractor teams on intake, dependencies, code-review handoffs, and delivery activities.
• Follow demand through the full lifecycle in ServiceNow SPM, from intake and approval through development, testing, and delivery, maintaining traceability throughout.
• Maintain Agile artifacts within ServiceNow and produce sprint-level and project-level reporting for leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline; alternatively, an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of total relevant professional experience, including at least 4 years managing software or platform delivery projects with responsibility for schedules, deliverables, and staffing.
• At least 2 years of experience facilitating Agile/Scrum ceremonies in distributed or remote environments.
• Working knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and ServiceNow Agile Module, or comparable Agile tooling such as Jira.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SPM, including Projects, Epics, and Stories.
• Strong understanding of ITIL service management processes and their application within technology delivery environments.
• Strong facilitation, conflict-resolution, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple vendors, distributed teams, and competing stakeholder priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, remove obstacles, drive outcomes, and enable teams to achieve delivery objectives.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I or higher) certification is preferred.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is preferred.
• SAFe certification, such as SSM or SA, is preferred.
• Experience working in a federal IT environment is preferred.
• Active federal security clearance or Public Trust experience is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident and willing and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Must be willing and able to satisfy applicable federal identity-verification requirements and update identification documents when necessary to complete the suitability process.
