Position Summary:

The SVP, Clinical Practice Management provides enterprise-wide clinical leadership across USHP's markets, with direct oversight of all Division Medical Presidents. This role sets clinical strategy and standards across the organization, drives consistent quality, performance, and compliance across all divisions, and operationalizes and drives the organization's value-based care strategy throughout the clinical practices in partnership with the Division Medical Presidents. The SVP, Clinical Practice Management builds and develops a high-performing bench of physician leaders and serves as a close partner to each Division Medical President — supporting them as they lead their division's financial, clinical, and physician leadership responsibilities. Serving as the clinical dyad partner to the SVP, Operations, the SVP, Clinical Practice Management shares accountability for the organization's overall clinical and financial success at scale.

Responsibilities may include:

• Strategic Clinical Leadership
  • Set enterprise-wide clinical strategy and standards in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Drive consistent clinical performance, quality, and compliance across all divisions and markets.
  • Represent clinical practice management in enterprise-level strategic planning, board reporting, and executive decision-making.
  • Partner with the SVP, Operations to align clinical strategy with overall business and growth objectives.
• Division Medical President Partnership & Support
  • Serve as a close, ongoing partner to each Division Medical President, supporting them in driving their division's financial success, clinical performance, and physician leadership priorities.
  • Partner with Division Medical Presidents on divisional P&L performance and revenue growth initiatives, helping them work effectively with their operations partners to meet financial targets.
  • Support Division Medical Presidents in the recruitment, development, and performance management of their Site Medical Directors.
  • Partner with Division Medical Presidents on physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategy within their divisions.
  • Support Division Medical Presidents in driving clinical quality, safety, and compliance initiatives across their sites.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability structures for Division Medical Presidents, including regular review of divisional financial and clinical outcomes.
  • Build a strong pipeline and succession plan for Division Medical President Regional and Site Medical Director talent across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and physician engagement across the division medical leadership team.
• Value-Based Care Operationalization
  • Operationalize and drive the organization's value-based care strategy throughout the clinical practices, in partnership with Division Medical Presidents.
  • Partner with Division Medical Presidents, Regional, and Site Medical Directors to execute value-based care programs and initiatives at the practice level.
  • Ensure Division Medical Presidents and Site Medical Directors are equipped and accountable to deliver on value-based care targets and quality metrics, directing continuous improvement efforts.
• Physician Leadership & Culture
  • Cultivate a strong culture of physician engagement, leadership development, and clinical excellence across the organization.
  • Partner with the Clinical Recruiting team to shape enterprise-wide physician recruitment and retention strategy.
  • Serve as a key voice for physician and clinical leadership in enterprise culture, communications, and change management initiatives.
• Growth & Market Development
  • Partner with executive and operations leadership to evaluate and support growth opportunities, including de novo sites, acquisitions, and market expansion.
  • Provide clinical leadership and due diligence support for acquisitions and new market entries.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or related) preferred. A medical degree is not required for this role.
• 12+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including significant experience leading physician leaders or clinical operations at a multi-site or enterprise level.
• Demonstrated success driving financial and clinical performance across multiple markets or divisions.
• Experience with value-based care models, programs, or contracting strongly preferred.
• Proven experience building, developing, and leading high-performing leadership teams.

• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and lead both physician and non-physician leaders.
• Track record of leading through others at scale within a multi-site, physician-led environment.
• Skilled at partnering with and enabling physician leaders to succeed, rather than directing top-down.
• Strategic thinker with strong financial and operational acumen.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
