Description: The Senior Software Developer will design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement cloud-native microservices and web-based applications for a critical Government client. Working on-site in Clarksburg, WV, this role requires a candidate with at least 5 years of software engineering experience who thrives in an Agile development environment. The position leverages a modern containerized and serverless stack, including Java Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services, to build resilient workflow modules, streamline data pipelines, and maintain secure, scalable systems.

Senior Software Developer Job Duties:

  • Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software related to web-based interfaces, microservices, REST APIs (OpenAPI), and associated workflow modules using Java Spring Boot and Maven.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize cloud-based data workflows and database services using AWS infrastructure (Glue, DynamoDB, DMS).
  • Package and deploy containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation.
  • Maintain, test, and update software using GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Git version control workflows.
  • Monitor, query, and troubleshoot production applications using Elasticsearch, Grafana, and related observability tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex production problems, perform root-cause analysis, and address issues identified during testing and implementation phases.
  • Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements, perform feasibility analyses, and evaluate integration tools.
  • Research, test, build, and coordinate the integration of legacy and modern software components across complex customer environments.
  • Resolve software bugs, respond constructively to feedback for system enhancements, and contribute to software documentation and user guides.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Security Clearance Requirements: DoD Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required on application.

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience within an Agile development framework. Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs and web-based applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Maven. Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern version control systems (GitLab).

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).

Desired Skills / Qualifications: Direct experience with AWS data and storage services: AWS Glue, DynamoDB, and AWS DMS (Database Migration Service). Experience writing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Exposure to enterprise search and monitoring platforms: Elasticsearch, Grafana, and Kafka. Proficiency with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and API testing tools (SoapUI, Postman). Strong relational database and SQL knowledge.

Location: Remote except in NY, NJ, CA and CO. Local to Clarksburg, WV preferred

Status: Full time

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
