Role Summary

As a Senior Software Application Developer you will help set technical direction and deliver durable, secure software for Case IQ’s platform. You will help lead complex cross-functional initiatives, raise engineering standards, and shape how product teams use AI-native and agentic engineering practices to move from idea to production safely and effectively.

You will help establish practical patterns for responsible AI use across discovery, design, implementation, testing, observability, and operations.

What You’ll Do

• Own the architecture and technical direction for high-impact platform capabilities, balancing product velocity, reliability, security, maintainability, and long-term operating cost.
• Design and evolve scalable APIs, distributed services, and data flows using TypeScript, Node.js, Redis, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, and event-driven patterns.
• Lead the engineering of AI-enabled product capabilities, including LLM integrations, retrieval and evaluation pipelines, orchestration, tool use, and human-in-the-loop controls appropriate for enterprise workflows.
• Establish agentic SDLC practices that improve delivery quality and speed: specification driven development, AI assisted design and implementation, automated test generation, code review support, release validation, and incident investigation.
• Build robust evaluation and guardrail systems for AI assisted and agentic workflows, covering quality, safety, security, privacy, observability, cost, regression detection, and rollback.
• Set standards for production readiness across AWS services such as CloudFront, S3, API Gateway, ECS, Lambda, RDS, and related cloud-native infrastructure.
• Drive secure-by-design implementation, including OWASP-aligned practices, tenant isolation, data protection, secrets management, access control, and compliance-aware engineering decisions.
• Lead ambiguous, multi-team initiatives from technical discovery through rollout; make sound trade-offs and communicate rationale clearly to engineering, product, design, QA, and leadership.
• Raise the bar for engineering excellence through architecture reviews, high-signal code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD quality gates, reliability practices, and pragmatic documentation.
• Mentor senior and developing engineers, multiply team capability, and help shape technical roadmaps, hiring, and engineering operating practices.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent depth of professional experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial experience designing and operating large-scale, customer-facing SaaS systems; demonstrated technical leadership across teams is essential.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, API design, distributed systems, and pragmatic system architecture.
• Demonstrated experience building or operating AI-enabled software in production, including LLM application patterns, RAG or retrieval systems, tool calling or workflow orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and risk controls.
• Hands-on experience using and improving AI-native or agentic SDLC workflows while maintaining rigorous human review, test coverage, security controls, and accountable engineering ownership.
• Strong experience with Docker or container platforms, GitHub, CI/CD, observability, and cloud security practices.
• Expert judgment in event-driven architecture, multi-tenancy, performance, reliability, and security; able to choose simple, resilient solutions under real delivery constraints.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence technical direction and explain complex trade-offs to varied audiences.
• A coaching mindset and a track record of raising the effectiveness of teams through mentoring, standards, and collaborative technical leadership.
