This role puts you at the center of a growing residential practice, acting as the technical lead and Florida permitting expert for a team of experienced architects who are new to Florida codes and U.S. drawing conventions. The team will produce the drawings from schematic design through construction documents, while you set the standards, review every permit set, and guide them through local requirements. Projects include single-family remodels, additions, garage conversions, and ADUs across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, with an initial volume of 3–5 projects per month.

What you'll do:

• Review residential permit drawing sets prepared by the architecture team before submission, ensuring they are complete, coordinated, and ready for jurisdictions in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach.
• Provide senior-level QA/QC across all project phases, from SD and DD sets through permit sets and CDs for general contractors.
• Establish and maintain drawing standards, templates, checklists, and documentation workflows.
• Guide the team on U.S. drawing conventions and Florida-specific permitting requirements.
• Review projects for compliance with FBC Residential 8th Edition and applicable HVHZ requirements, and verify product approvals and supporting documentation.
• Review and help resolve plan review comments and permit corrections.
• Provide clear markups, technical feedback, and answers to code-related questions from the production team.
• Support flood-zone and energy-compliance requirements when applicable.

What you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
• Advanced English level (spoken and written).
• Recent, hands-on experience personally producing residential permit sets in South Florida.
• Strong knowledge of FBC Residential 8th Edition, HVHZ requirements, product approvals, and plan review comments.
• Experience working on residential projects, including multifamily.
• Proven ability to mentor other architects, identify compliance issues, and deliver clear technical feedback.
• Strong proficiency in Bluebeam for drawing reviews, markups, QA/QC, and permit-set comments.
• AutoCAD and/or Revit experience is valuable.
• Experience with flood-zone requirements and energy compliance is a plus.
