  • Monitor enterprise networks using multiple monitoring and management platforms; investigate events, identify root causes, and restore stable service.
  • Maintain network infrastructure through operating-system and application upgrades, vulnerability remediation, configuration management, and lifecycle planning.
  • Work with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to resolve network incidents, problems, performance issues, and service risks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain technical standards, operating procedures, asset-management practices, change controls, usage reporting, and disaster-recovery procedures.
  • Participate in product evaluation, systems testing, certification, implementation planning, and production transition activities.
  • Provide guidance and cross-training to network engineers and contribute to technical knowledge management.
  • Participate in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and provide on-call or after-hours support when required.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS).
  • 7+ years of experience across enterprise switching, routing, and network security.
  • 7+ years of experience with Silver Peak or equivalent SD-WAN technologies.
  • 7+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud networking.
  • Experience supporting complex, geographically distributed networks in operationally critical environments.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewall configuration, policy administration, troubleshooting, upgrades, and security operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco IOS-based switching and routing technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Silver Peak or comparable SD-WAN platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise wireless infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of network-monitoring and management platforms such as Cisco Catalyst Center, SolarWinds, and ThousandEyes.
  • Strong knowledge of network design and operations across switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, and network security.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server networking and Microsoft operating-system environments.
  • Cloud-networking knowledge covering connectivity, routing, network security, and operational support in Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with change management, incident and problem resolution, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery, asset management, and technical documentation.

Preferred Certifications

  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure or AWS networking certification is advantageous.

Leadership and Professional Competencies

  • Ability to coordinate and direct technical activities across multiple teams while remaining hands-on.
  • Ability to develop practical solutions within complex operational environments.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining focus on tactical priorities and service restoration.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing assignments, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities to support business objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder coordination, accountability, and team-oriented collaboration.
