Senior ChromeOS Platform & Linux Kernel Engineer

Location: Remote (only Texas or east coast candidates)

1. ChromeOS Platform Engineering
• C++ Systems Programming: Strong C++ background within complex, multi-million-line codebases (Chromium/ChromeOS tree), with emphasis on asynchronous I/O, IPC (DBus/Mojo), and userland daemons.
• OS Architecture & Build Tooling: Experience working with Portage/Gentoo-based build systems, board overlays, cross-compilation, and image deployment/flashing tools (e.g., custom board image builds, hot rod).
2. Kernel & Hardware-Adjacent Debugging
• Kernel Bug Triage & Patching: Demonstrated experience triaging and fixing Linux kernel bugs (specifically 5.10 / 5.15 LTS kernels), interpreting syzbot/syzkaller crash reports, and submitting upstream or downstream patches.
• Hardware/Peripheral Protocol Analysis: Experience executing hardware-adjacent triage using USB protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and bus debugging tools for peripheral/device interop issues.
3. Engineering & Release Triage
• P0/P1 Issue Triage: Proven track record in rapid P0/P1 regression triage, root-causing crash dumps/stack traces, and backporting critical stability fixes across release channels.
