Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Analyst, Fraud Intelligence based in the United States.

Join a data-driven team working at the intersection of fraud prevention, advanced analytics, and AI-powered decision-making. In this high-impact role, you will analyze large-scale behavioral and transactional data to uncover emerging fraud patterns and protect retailers and their customers. Your insights will help strengthen fraud detection strategies, improve automated review systems, and inform machine learning models. Working closely with Fraud Operations and Machine Learning teams, you will turn complex findings into practical solutions that respond to evolving threats. You will also contribute to technical quality through code reviews and mentorship of junior analysts. This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful analytical challenges in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where your work directly influences business outcomes and customer trust.

Accountabilities

  • Analyze large-scale behavioral, transactional, and customer interaction data to identify signals associated with fraud and abuse.
  • Apply business judgment and analytical methods to investigate fraud patterns, test hypotheses, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Respond to emerging fraud threats by building monitoring frameworks, dashboards, and mitigation solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Assess the performance of AI-powered fraud review agents, evaluating the quality of case summaries and the accuracy of recommended decisions.
  • Translate evaluation findings into improvements to prompts, rules, and workflows to enhance automated fraud review.
  • Partner with Machine Learning teams to recommend model features based on observed fraud patterns and provide feedback on model scoring using investigation outcomes.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, promote analytical best practices, and mentor junior analysts in SQL and data analysis.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in fraud analytics, ideally within e-commerce or retail.
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data science and analytics fundamentals, including statistical analysis, modeling, and data wrangling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and practical experience with Python data analysis libraries, such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
  • Strong analytical judgment and business acumen, with the ability to identify meaningful patterns in complex datasets and develop actionable insights.
  • Experience evaluating or tuning automated decision-making systems, including LLM-based or rules-based solutions, is a plus.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence decisions.
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a strong understanding of user behavior and fraud patterns.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a collaborative, empathetic, and humble working style.
  • Must be located within the continental United States and authorized to meet the role’s employment requirements. Immigration-related sponsorship is not available for this position.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $125,000–$145,000. The final offer depends on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Equity in an early-stage, fast-growing company.
  • Generous and flexible paid time off.
  • A 401(k) plan with financial guidance from Morgan Stanley.
  • A collaborative and supportive team environment with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
