Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support the quarterly financial reporting production cycle across US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value frameworks through the analysis of modeled results and production of the reporting package.

Monitor and refine existing analytics and reports to ensure continued relevance and alignment with evolving business needs.

Identify opportunities to enhance, streamline, and automate reporting processes and analytical frameworks.

Support the onboarding of new reinsurance treaties and products including the design and implementation of controls and analytics frameworks.

Support the annual actuarial assumption review process including experience analysis, assumption assessment, and quantification of financial impacts.

Support the annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes.

Serve as a key point of contact for external audit requests related to actuarial reporting.

Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives across the actuarial and finance functions.

Other tasks as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business, or related field required.

A minimum of two years of actuarial experience is required.

ASA designations are preferred.

Required Skills

Familiarity with US GAAP (LDTI) and/or EBS/BSCR.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Some familiarity with R, Python, and/or comparable programming language, and/or actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, MG-ALFA) preferred.

Ability to anticipate, problem-solve, take action, and adapt in a fast-paced, growing business.

High degree of attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to collaborate with others in support of key initiatives.

Martello Re welcomes applications for remote positions from candidates residing in the Eastern/Central time zones, or where the company currently operates (CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, MD, MA, MO, NJ, NY, NC, PA, SC, TN, TX & District of Columbia) or within a commutable distance to our Charlotte, NC office in the United States.

This position may require periodic travel to Martello Re offices or other relevant locations.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
