Product owner (salesforce)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner (Salesforce) based in United States.

This role owns the vision, backlog, and delivery outcomes for technical products supporting enterprise operations. You will serve as the key connection between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating business needs into actionable product requirements. The position combines strategic prioritization with hands-on backlog management across the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineering, architecture, data, QA, operations, health plan, compliance, legal, and audit teams to deliver scalable and supportable solutions. Working within an Agile environment, you will balance business value, regulatory obligations, risk, dependencies, and technical sustainability. The role is suited to an experienced product professional who can navigate complexity, influence diverse stakeholders, and make sound decisions in a highly regulated environment.

Accountabilities:

• Own and communicate a clear product vision aligned with enterprise strategy, operational outcomes, and regulatory requirements.
• Maximize product value by prioritizing initiatives according to business impact, regulatory needs, risk, dependencies, and long-term sustainability.
• Serve as the primary owner for product decisions, tradeoffs, scope, priorities, and acceptance of completed work.
• Manage the full product lifecycle, from discovery and intake through implementation, stabilization, optimization, modernization, and eventual retirement.
• Create, refine, and maintain a prioritized product backlog that reflects stakeholder needs, technical realities, and strategic priorities.
• Develop high-quality epics, features, and user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
• Lead backlog refinement and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Evaluate and accept or reject delivered work based on defined acceptance criteria, quality standards, and regulatory alignment.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand problems, desired outcomes, constraints, and regulatory obligations, translating them into actionable requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, data, QA, operations, and health plan teams to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, secure, and supportable.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language and convert business needs into actionable technical requirements.
• Support leadership escalation protocols and serve as an escalation point for complex scope, priority, and requirement decisions.
• Ensure product delivery and documentation align with security, regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with compliance, legal, health plan, and audit teams during relevant reviews and implementations.
• Maintain current, accurate, and audit-ready product documentation, controls, and supporting artifacts.
• Identify delivery risks early and work with cross-functional teams to mitigate their impact.
• Monitor product performance, usage, and outcomes, using data and stakeholder feedback to inform backlog priorities.
• Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, simplification, standardization, and reduction of unmanaged complexity.
• Manage one or more moderately complex products or product areas within established product strategy, governance, and prioritization frameworks.
• Balance competing priorities within a defined scope while escalating complex tradeoffs when appropriate.
• Demonstrate increasing autonomy across backlog management, delivery decisions, stakeholder engagement, and product ownership.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in product ownership, product management, business analysis, or technical solution delivery.
• Demonstrated experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Experience supporting technical products such as enterprise platforms, configuration tools, data solutions, integrations, or operational systems.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile principles.
• Proven ability to write clear, testable user stories and well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Experience prioritizing work in complex and highly regulated environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations and make informed decisions with incomplete information.
• Experience with enterprise platforms, APIs, integrations, or configuration-heavy systems is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, financial services, or another regulated industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce is preferred.
• A Product Owner or Product Manager certification is strongly preferred at the time of hire.
