Job Description

Overview

Copilot is a generalist. When people want a specialist, millions use Copilot Agents Builder to create agents and skills that get work done consistently every time. The Copilot Agent Tools & Lifecycle team is building a coherent authoring and lifecycle experience that lets information workers, makers, developers, partners, and administrators run their business processes by building trusted production-grade AI Agents & Skills. You will work across Microsoft 365 Copilot and partner organizations to create a unified product strategy for authoring, running, evaluating, observing, and governing Agents & Skills for personal and organizational use.

As a Principal Product Manager, you will lead with empathy for our customers, partners, and teammates to define the multi-year strategy and cross-organizational execution for Agent & Skill authoring by information workers and makers. You will leverage AI in everything you do. You will also use customer and market signals to identify opportunities across divisional boundaries; translate ambiguous needs into durable product and platform direction; guide roadmap and investment prioritization; align executives, engineering, design, marketing, and partner teams on measurable outcomes; and hold yourself accountable through scorecard metrics. This opportunity will allow you to shape an AI-first platform area for millions of customers, deepen your expertise in agentic systems and enterprise governance, and lead complex product transitions through influence at organizational scale.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evangelize the long-term vision, strategy, investment framework, and roadmap for authoring agents and skills across divisional boundaries.

  • Create a coherent progression across information-worker, maker, and developer entry points so solutions can move from lightweight creation to trusted, governed, enterprise-scale deployment without fragmentation or rework.
  • Drive shared lifecycle capabilities across Copilot, Copilot Studio, Agent Builder, and partner surfaces.
  • Partner with teams across Microsoft to define platform contracts, integration patterns, ownership boundaries, dependencies, release criteria, and shared success measures.
  • Lead difficult product and architecture decisions with senior stakeholders, balancing customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, quality, security, privacy, responsible AI, compliance, reliability, cost, and time to market.
  • Define OKRs, AI quality measures, experimentation and learning loops; use evidence to improve adoption, engagement, retention, reliability, and business outcomes, and to change course or deprecate capabilities when warranted.
