Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing advanced manufacturing company that's rethinking how complex hardware gets built. Their integrated platform combines additive manufacturing, automated assembly, and engineering software to turn complex designs into production-ready systems. They supply global automotive OEMs and support leading U.S. aerospace and defense companies, and they're scaling quickly.
The Role
They're looking for a manufacturing engineering leader to bring new manufacturing technologies from development into reliable, cost-efficient production. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team of manufacturing engineers in a high-mix hardware environment, setting priorities, mentoring engineers, and driving the processes that take parts from concept to production. This role suits someone who still has hands-on depth in advanced manufacturing, including additive, robotics, and automation. You'll shape how hardware is designed, not just how it's built.
What You'll Own
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of manufacturing engineers driving design for manufacturing, process development, and advanced manufacturing methods across the client's production platform
- Own manufacturing requirements, process specifications, and root cause investigations to keep production reliable and high quality
- Set team priorities, track projects, and mentor engineers to hit critical company milestones
- Develop industry-leading approaches to process qualification, production scalability, and automation
- Implement advanced manufacturing strategies across machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, bonding, coatings, and joining
- Identify and deploy new manufacturing technologies that improve quality, reduce cost, and increase throughput
- Partner closely with design, materials, quality, and production teams to influence hardware design and production readiness
What You'll Need
- 8+ years in manufacturing engineering, with significant aerospace or defense exposure
- 3+ years leading manufacturing engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing, including additive manufacturing, robotics, and automation
- A track record of leading complex projects from concept through production, with high-performance materials and high-reliability applications
- CAD proficiency (Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or similar) and a strong grasp of GD&T
- Experience with MES, PLM, and ERP systems
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline
- Must be able to access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls
Nice to Have
- Master's in a relevant engineering discipline
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement expertise
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
- Startup or fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing experience, ideally with a drive to challenge traditional manufacturing approaches
