The Company & Mission:

Join a mission driven defense technology company building next generation software systems that power U.S. Navy platforms, including combat systems aboard nuclear submarines. Our client builds sonobuoy sensors that collect edge data at sea and partners with the U.S. Navy to process SONAR data. The work goes directly into operational use.

What This Role is All About:

You'll build the infrastructure behind our client's data management and AI platform for maritime domain awareness. You'll sit inside the engineering team, standing up services, owning deployments and pipelines, and giving software engineers a platform they can trust. This is not a maintenance role. Much of the infrastructure still needs to be built.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design and implement cloud architecture for AI/ML and data processing workloads
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi
• Build CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines with GitHub Actions
• Continuously deploy to AWS and air gapped environments
• Monitor services with OpenTelemetry, Sentry and SigNoz
• Enforce CMMC compliance and manage secrets and configuration

What You Bring:

• Expert level Infrastructure as Code, Pulumi strongly preferred, Terraform acceptable
• Deep hands on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong CI/CD and DevSecOps experience with GitHub Actions
• Proficiency with AWS and/or other cloud services
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Go
• Solid networking fundamentals
• Experience deploying to air gapped environments and self hosting on bare metal
• Familiarity with CMMC, PCI or SOC, and with SSO/IdP tools like Authentik or Keycloak
• High standards for code quality: typed, tested, linted
• High agency and real curiosity: you own problems end to end and want to know how your tools work under the hood
