Healthcare consulting manager - revenue cycle

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Healthcare Consulting Manager - Revenue Cycle based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact healthcare consulting engagements focused on revenue cycle performance. You will help hospitals and health systems improve financial outcomes while strengthening operational efficiency and patient-facing processes. The position combines project leadership, data-driven performance improvement, and revenue cycle expertise. You will manage complex, multi-workstream initiatives while guiding junior team members and building strong client relationships. The role provides exposure to strategic challenges across billing, coding, collections, denials, and patient access. You will work in a collaborative consulting environment where communication, mentorship, and measurable client results are highly valued. This is a remote position with travel varying according to client and project requirements.

Accountabilities

• Develop and implement revenue cycle best practices that improve operational efficiency, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Assess and optimize billing, coding, collections, denials management, and related revenue cycle processes to reduce revenue leakage.
• Lead complex, multi-workstream consulting projects, including project planning, workplan management, execution, and delivery.
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify improvement opportunities and support organizational change initiatives.
• Partner closely with clients and internal teams to align project outcomes with strategic and business objectives.
• Communicate project progress, findings, recommendations, and priorities effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Lead, coach, train, and develop junior team members through ongoing supervision, feedback, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 6+ years of experience in project leadership and workplan management within a consulting firm environment.
• Professional experience focused on hospital or physician revenue cycle, denials management, or patient access services.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, multiple workstreams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate data into practical performance improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with clients and project teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to travel based on client, enterprise, or project requirements; current travel across the healthcare practice averages less than 50% annually.
• U.S. work authorization required.
• Experience working within a matrixed organization or cross-functional environment is preferred.

Estimated base salary of $145,000–$185,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, certifications, market conditions, travel requirements, and other factors.
