Head of creative & design

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Creative & Design based in United States.

This is a senior creative leadership role focused on shaping and elevating a global brand across every major customer touchpoint.

You will define creative vision and design direction while leading a major global rebrand from concept through execution.

The role spans brand identity, campaigns, digital experiences, web, social, video, motion, events, and executive communications.

You will lead and develop an in-house creative team while coordinating agencies and freelance partners.

The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on creative direction and a strong focus on quality and consistency.

You will also build scalable systems, processes, and design tools that help teams move faster while staying aligned with the brand.

Accountabilities:

• Own the global creative vision and establish design direction across brand touchpoints, markets, channels, and customer experiences.
• Lead a major global rebrand from initial concept and visual identity development through implementation, rollout, and ongoing evolution.
• Lead, mentor, and develop an in-house creative team while effectively managing agency, freelance, and external creative partners.
• Serve as a brand guardian, maintaining a high standard of creative quality, consistency, and brand expression across regions and channels.
• Partner with Product Marketing, Demand Generation, PR, Social, and other stakeholders to develop integrated campaigns that deliver compelling brand experiences.
• Own and evolve the visual identity and design system, including typography, imagery, motion, templates, guidelines, and related creative assets.
• Provide creative direction across web, digital experiences, video, motion, events, sales materials, and executive communications.
• Establish efficient creative processes covering briefing, reviews, prioritization, resource planning, approvals, and quality standards.
• Translate complex or technical concepts into clear, engaging, and visually compelling creative work.
• Introduce and responsibly integrate AI tools into creative workflows to improve speed, scalability, ideation, and production efficiency while maintaining originality and quality.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to establish creative priorities and ensure design supports broader business and brand objectives.
• Build the systems, guidelines, and reusable design tools that enable teams across the organization to work efficiently and consistently.
• Continuously raise the quality and effectiveness of creative output while developing a trusted, high-performing creative function.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in senior design, creative leadership, or a comparable role, ideally within B2B technology, SaaS, professional services, or another complex business environment.
• Strong creative portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand identity, design direction, campaigns, and visually compelling work across multiple channels.
• Proven experience leading or playing a significant role in a major rebrand or large-scale brand refresh.
• Broad expertise across brand strategy and identity, integrated campaigns, digital design, web, motion, video, and related creative disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing creative teams, as well as managing agencies, freelancers, and external partners.
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable with hands-on creative direction and detailed design work when required.
• Strong ability to simplify complex, technical, or business concepts into clear and compelling creative narratives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence presenting creative concepts, providing direction, and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience incorporating AI tools into creative workflows and understanding how to use emerging technology while maintaining creative quality and originality.
• Strong proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and creative initiatives.
• A collaborative, curious, commercially aware, and solutions-oriented approach to creative leadership.
• Experience working in a private-equity-backed, high-growth, or fast-moving B2B organization is advantageous.
