Job Summary

We are seeking a Glass Layer Tech Lead to own backend design, service boundaries, and production readiness for enterprise AI and data platforms. This role requires advanced expertise in backend engineering, APIs, cloud infrastructure, observability, and secure delivery of AI/data responses. The Tech Lead will remain hands-on while mentoring engineers, conducting design/code reviews, and ensuring high-quality, resilient systems.

Job Description/ Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Backend Engineering: Advanced Python development, REST and streaming APIs, Asynchronous processing, retries, timeouts, caching, Session/workflow state management, schema validation, structured error handling
• Primary Focus: EBC backend/runtime, APIs, session and identity context, Integrations and reliable delivery of data and AI responses
• Security & Governance: Secure coding practices, Least privilege and identity propagation, Secrets management, masking, audit logging, Protection of sensitive data
• Observability & Operations: Logging, metrics, distributed tracing, Dashboards, alerting, SLIs, Incident response, root-cause analysis, recovery, and support runbooks
• Testing & Quality: Unit, integration, contract, regression, performance, load, and resilience testing, Automated quality gates
• CI/CD & Release: Automated build, test, deployment, promotion, rollback, Credential rotation and environment management
• Cloud & Infrastructure: GCP, GKE, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Service accounts, workload identity, networking, DNS, load balancing, private connectivity
• Knowledge Graph: Integrate backend services with semantic and graph interfaces
• AI & Retrieval: Conversational AI integration, Agent orchestration, structured response payloads, citations, Graceful handling of unavailable downstream services
• Data Engineering: Advanced SQL, BigQuery, Curated/authorized views, query optimization, Result transformation, pagination, filtering, masking, role-aware delivery
• API & Integration: API-first design, Apigee, Authentication/authorization, user-context propagation, Versioned contracts, rate limiting, Integration with UI, AI gateways, agents, BigQuery, Stardog
