POSITION SUMMARY
Community-service outreach for Hosanna High Natural Burial Project (Let's Be Trees), a 501(c)(3). The student helps locate land that could become a community-owned natural burial ground so funerals can stay affordable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and contact farmers, rural landowners, estate holders, and land-rich families who may consider donating acreage, a conservation-minded parcel, or a life-estate gift for a nonprofit community cemetery.
- Use approved talking points only. Explain the public benefit: a $100 membership community cemetery if land can be secured in that area. Do not negotiate legal terms, appraise land, or promise tax outcomes.
- Keep a shared land-lead log: owner or farm name, county, contact, date, interest level, and next step. Hand warm leads to the supervisor the same week.
- Where appropriate, ask county Farm Service Agency offices, farm bureaus, extension offices, and rural churches for public contact lists or bulletin-board permission.
- Attend the weekly virtual check-in and turn in hours plus a short activity note.
- Other community-service tasks consistent with land-for-cemetery outreach, as assigned.
