About FaithOnline

FaithOnline is building a Gospel-centered digital ecosystem for real spiritual formation, honest connection, and grounded community online. We believe technology should serve growth in Christ, not distraction or noise. We are pre-launch and moving quickly. Our platform is iOS and Android first, built for believers who want more than a scroll. Every engineer we bring on shapes both the product and the mission. We are not filling seats. We are looking for builders who care about what they build.

The Role

We need a full-stack engineer who can work across the whole stack: mobile, backend, and web. You will build a real product for real users, and your work will ship quickly and carry weight. This is not a slow corporate role with layers of process. We move quickly, learn quickly, and adjust quickly. Everyone here owns their work and runs with it. No hand-holding required. The role starts as a contract position at about 20 hours per week. Hours and scope can grow as the platform grows.

What You'll Work On

• Mobile (iOS + Android)
  • Build and maintain features across our Flutter app
  • Turn Figma designs into polished, performant UIs with Material Design components
  • Keep the app stable, fast, and crash-free
  • Support App Store and Google Play build, submission, and release
• Backend and Infrastructure
  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines
  • Work across our core stack: Supabase (auth + database), GCP (infrastructure), Redis (caching), GetStream (social feed + messaging)
  • Keep us fast, reliable, and scalable as we grow, and weigh in on architecture decisions
• Web and Admin
  • Build and maintain our web admin dashboard and creator publishing tools
  • Write clean, maintainable code across frontend and backend
  • Build the internal tooling that keeps the platform running

Working Together

Partner closely with product, design, and QA. Take part in sprint planning and ticket refinement over Slack and Jira. Raise issues early, propose solutions, and own your work end to end.

• Backend: Node.js + Express + Inversify

Who We're Looking For

A true generalist. You move comfortably across mobile, backend, and web, and you can point to things you have shipped end to end. Breadth matters more to us than any single specialty. Strong mobile instincts. Flutter experience is a big plus. If you have not used it yet but you learn fast and have shipped mobile before, we are glad to teach you. You build with AI tools. Using AI to move faster and write better code is a normal part of how you work, not an afterthought. Still hands-on, and want to stay that way. This is a build role, not a manage-from-above role. The best fit is someone deep in the code who loves being there. Startup-minded. You are comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities, and you take ownership without being asked. A follower of Jesus who wants every part of life, work included, to glorify Him, and who is looking for a place where His name is welcome rather than off-limits.

Nice to Have

• GetStream or a similar social / activity feed platform
• Supabase or Firebase-style backend-as-a-service
• Ghost CMS or a similar content platform
• App store submissions, TestFlight, and Google Play Console
• A background in faith-based, mission-driven, or community-focused products

• You ship quality features across iOS, Android, and web that serve users and advance the mission
• You move quickly through the stack without leaving technical debt that slows the team down
• You work smoothly with design, backend, QA, and product
• You own your workstream and you deliver
• You grow with the platform as it scales from early traction into a thriving community of believers

We are building technology in service of the Church, not in competition with it. The engineer we hire should share this foundation. You do not have to agree with every implementation decision we make, but you should believe in what we are building and why.
