About Fiestasloscabos

Fiestasloscabos is a hospitality and events-focused company dedicated to delivering memorable experiences. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to help keep our financial operations accurate, timely, and audit-ready as we grow.

Role Summary

As a Financial Accountant, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for early-career professionals (0–5 years) who want hands-on experience across core accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger records, including journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities (reconciliations, schedules, variance explanations)
  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts (bank, AR/AP clearing, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals)
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed (coding, matching, invoicing support, collections follow-up)
  • Help prepare internal financial reports and management-ready summaries (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow support)
  • Support budgeting/forecasting by providing historical data, trend analysis, and ad hoc reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies; help document processes and improve workflows
  • Assist with external requests such as audits, tax support, and vendor/customer documentation

Required Qualifications

  • 0–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related internships/entry-level roles
  • Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals (GAAP concepts, debits/credits, reconciliations)
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • High integrity and ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience with accounting software/ERPs (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, Xero) and expense tools
  • Exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, or audit support
  • Experience in hospitality, events, travel, or service-based businesses

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

  • You can independently complete assigned reconciliations with clear support schedules
  • Month-end close tasks are delivered on time with minimal rework
  • You proactively flag discrepancies and propose practical fixes
  • Financial data is organized, traceable, and ready for review or audit requests
