About FIND Services

FIND is an HR technology platform helping African professionals become more discoverable, better prepared and better connected to global opportunities. We're building our first ever MVP, that is moving the conversation away from "cheap labour" and toward fair, quality-driven global workforce connections. It will help African talents become more discoverable, better prepared, and more fairly connected to global opportunities. User testing and iteration will take place post-MVP during a pilot phase, with a broader vision of establishing a trusted, pan-African talent ecosystem.

Role Overview

We're looking for an Engineering Lead to help lead the engineering department in executing technical goals and help deliver our MVP as we prepare to launch. This role connects technical execution with operational delivery by supporting code quality, code review, sprint execution, and a collaborative environment for engineering growth. The Engineering Lead works closely with the project manager, product manager and CTO to align day-to-day technical execution with the broader architecture and strategic roadmap.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Strengthen the architecture as the platform scales in its MVP stage
  • Set technical direction and document key architecture decisions
  • Establish, maintain, and promote high code-quality standards
  • Identify technical debt, bottlenecks, and architectural risks
  • Facilitate weekly stand-ups, resolve technical blockers, manage deliverables, and support predictable sprint planning and execution
  • Establish pragmatic engineering standards and best practices

Product & AI Strategy

  • Translate product vision into clear engineering priorities
  • Balance speed, quality, technical debt, and customer requirements

Engineering Leadership

  • Partner with and assist existing developers, champion best practices, and support professional growth
  • Conduct regular code reviews to support clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Improve database migrations, environments, testing, release processes, and CI/CD
  • Increase engineering velocity using modern AI-assisted development like Codex, Co-pilot, etc
  • Hold recurring one-on-one check-ins with the CTO to provide status updates, align on operational goals, and maintain accountability

We expect this person to have fully integrated AI-first software development practices, e.g. using Codex, Claude Code, other comparable coding agents as a core part of daily engineering work, paired with human review.

Founder Partnership

  • Sometimes act as a trusted go-to person for technical advice
  • Dig into complex technicalities and present recommendations
  • Turn ideas and user needs into clear actionable execution plans

Tech Stack

React + TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Supabase, Mongo db, AWS, AI-assisted development workflows (Cursor, Copilot, Codex, Devin. You'll use your individual account)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Some experience leading an engineering team.
  • Hands-on experience with full-stack, back-end, or front-end development.
  • Someone familiar with AI coding agents to increase engineering leverage
  • You must have a builder’s mindset with startup grit
  • Take high ownership and accountability of your role
  • You can move quickly without sacrificing reliability or maintainability
  • If you’ve helped take an early-stage platform from MVP through its first stage to launch, we’d love to talk.

Benefits:

  • 100% REMOTE: We are a global team. Work with us from anywhere worldwide with flexible hours to accommodate your schedule
  • Hands-on Experience: Gain valuable experience within a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Meaningful Impact: Contribute to the growth of a developing startup and build a strong professional portfolio.
  • Recognition, based on performance: Recommendation (LinkedIn/Upwork/LOR)
  • Company email address for reference
  • Featured on our website
  • Certificate of Completion
  • Possibility of retention (equity-based compensation)

Hiring Process:

  • Stage 1: Initial Interview (30 mins): An asynchronous online conversation with AI. We evaluate each response directly, so please avoid using external AI tools.
  • Stage 2: Team Interview: A direct, 1-on-1 video call with Annita (HR Coordinator) and Sirri (Co-founder/CTO) to align on shared expectations and role fit.
  • Stage 3: Onboarding: Should both sides agree it is a great match, we will send over your official invitation to join the team!
