Engineering director – infrastructure & security

We are working with an established international technology company seeking an experienced Engineering Director to take ownership of its infrastructure, security and compliance functions. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will be responsible for defining technical strategy, driving operational excellence and leading high-performing engineering teams across Sweden, the US and India. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the company's infrastructure and security strategy within a global, remote-first engineering organisation.

Must Haves

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, security and compliance.
• Proven experience leading, building and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Experience defining and executing infrastructure and security strategies.
• Strong understanding of cloud operations, infrastructure reliability, scalability and security best practices.
• Experience managing security compliance initiatives and audit processes.
• Proven ability to communicate technical strategy, risks and priorities to senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading remote or internationally distributed engineering teams.

Nice to Haves

• Experience reporting directly to a CTO or working closely with executive leadership.
• Background in international technology or product-led organisations.
• Experience establishing engineering KPIs, performance metrics and operational standards.
• Track record of improving infrastructure efficiency, reliability and security.
