UNDP's policy work carried out at HQ, Regional and Country Office levels, forms a contiguous spectrum of deep local knowledge to cutting-edge global perspectives and advocacy. In this context, UNDP invests in the Global Policy Network (GPN), a network of field-based and global technical expertise across a wide range of knowledge domains and in support of the signature solutions and organizational capabilities envisioned in the Strategic Plan.

The Gender Equality Global Programme (GEGP) serves as a key vehicle for advancing this agenda, including Outcome 1: Economies are inclusive, and women are economically empowered. Under this outcome, UNDP supports countries in developing and implementing gender-responsive economic and fiscal policies, strengthening public finance systems, expanding investments in the care economy, and generating evidence on the impacts of taxation, public expenditure, and social protection policies on gender equality. Through research, policy advisory services, and capacity development, the Programme contributes to ensuring that public resources and fiscal reforms support more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable development outcomes for gender equality.
