Job Description

At R1, we’re transforming how healthcare works by combining nearly two decades of revenue cycle expertise with advanced technology, including analytics, AI, intelligent automation and workflow orchestration. We pair that technology with the irreplaceable expertise of our people to help hospitals, health systems and medical groups improve financial performance, simplify administrative complexity and create better experiences for patients and providers.

All Together Better defines our culture and the way we work. We’re a diverse, global team united by a shared mission to make healthcare work better for all. Across technology, operations and support functions, our people bring deep expertise, empathy and ingenuity to the work we do. Here, collaboration fuels progress, adaptability sparks innovation and every voice can help shape what’s next for R1 and the future of healthcare.

As our Director of Product, you will lead the strategy, development, and launch of a new AI-enabled physician accounts receivable product within R37. This role will extend the value of our existing healthcare revenue cycle technology investments into a new market opportunity, leveraging proven capabilities to deliver a solution for physician revenue cycle operations. Partnering closely with product, engineering, operations, and business leaders, you will help bring the product from concept to adoption while building alignment across a highly cross-functional organization. Reporting directly to product leadership, you will play a central role in shaping roadmap priorities, driving cross-functional alignment, and establishing the foundation for a growing physician revenue cycle product offering.

Every day, you will guide product strategy and execution, partner closely with engineering and operational teams, and drive alignment across stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes. To thrive in this role, you must combine healthcare revenue cycle expertise and product development experience with exceptional communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives through influence, collaboration, and structured problem solving.

Here's what you will experience working as a Director of Product:

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution plan for a new physician accounts receivable solution, balancing customer needs, operational opportunities, and business objectives to drive measurable outcomes.
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, commercial, and executive stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, define requirements, manage releases, and ensure successful adoption of product capabilities.
  • Lead product development through agile delivery practices, providing vision, product direction, acceptance criteria, and release readiness decisions while maintaining alignment across teams.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize value from existing R37 and healthcare revenue cycle technologies, accelerating innovation while minimizing unnecessary development and operational complexity.
  • Serve as a trusted product leader, building strong cross-functional relationships, incorporating voice-of-customer insights, developing product narratives, and helping teams translate strategy into execution.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of product leadership experience building and scaling complex technology products.
  • Deep healthcare domain expertise with strong preference for revenue cycle management experience, including physician billing, accounts receivable, patient accounting, or related financial operations.
  • Proven track record of identifying market opportunities and translating customer insights into successful products and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong command of Agile product development and cross-functional execution, with experience leading products from concept through launch and adoption.
  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment across executive, business, operational, and technical stakeholders.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $189,000.00 - $364,500.00 per year. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
