Job Description

Join Us in Transforming Healthcare Education

At Joyce University, compliance is more than checking boxes—it is about creating the structure, clarity, and confidence that allows our students, faculty, and teams to move forward with purpose.

We are seeking a Director of Compliance to serve as a key operational leader within Joyce's Office of Regulatory Affairs, Accreditation & Compliance. In this role, you will help translate accreditation and regulatory expectations into practical, sustainable processes across the University. You will bring a thoughtful, proactive approach to compliance while partnering with leaders and teams across Joyce to ensure our practices are accurate, consistent, well-documented, and aligned with the standards that guide higher education.

This is an opportunity for an experienced compliance or regulatory professional to have a meaningful institutional impact as Joyce continues to grow its academic offerings, online learning, and geographic reach.

What You'll Do

As Director of Compliance, you will help build and maintain a strong culture of compliance across the University. Your work will span accreditation, regulatory requirements, student services, privacy, communications, and multi-state authorization.

  • Lead marketing and communications compliance by reviewing marketing materials, enrollment communications, and website content for alignment with accreditation standards, approved academic offerings, licensure disclosures, program outcomes, cost information, and required consumer disclosures.
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting and annual filings, ensuring institutional and programmatic reports are accurate, timely, complete, and ready for accreditor or regulatory review.
  • Build compliance understanding across Joyce by developing and delivering training for academic leaders, faculty, enrollment, marketing, student services, and other teams.
  • Oversee student conduct and grievance processes, including intake, investigation coordination, hearing logistics, and resolution documentation, while supporting fair, consistent, and policy-aligned outcomes.
  • Monitor state authorization and distance education compliance across the states and jurisdictions where Joyce operates.
  • Conduct compliance reviews and audits of student services functions, including advising, enrollment communications, and student support services.
  • Coordinate privacy and data compliance efforts, including CCPA-related requirements and data governance workflows in partnership with IT, Legal, Enrollment, and other stakeholders.
  • Support FERPA compliance in partnership with the Registrar's Office, including staff training, review of communications for potential improper disclosures, and protection of student conduct and grievance information.
  • Monitor changes in regulations and accreditation expectations and help translate those changes into actionable guidance, processes, and training.
  • Partner with leaders across the University to identify potential compliance risks, develop solutions, strengthen processes, and support informed decision-making.
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation that demonstrates Joyce's ongoing compliance and readiness for accreditation and regulatory review.

What's In It For You

Purposeful Work
Your work will directly support Joyce's ability to serve students, expand access to healthcare education, and maintain the trust of our students, partners, regulators, and accrediting bodies.

Meaningful Impact
You'll have the opportunity to strengthen systems and processes that touch nearly every part of the University and help shape how compliance is understood and practiced across Joyce.

A Culture of Learning
We value curiosity, continuous improvement, and the willingness to ask questions, explore better approaches, and keep learning.

Collaborative Leadership
You'll work alongside leaders and teams across the University, building relationships and helping turn complex requirements into practical solutions.

A People-First Environment
At Joyce, we believe every interaction matters. We approach our work with care, integrity, service, and a genuine commitment to helping one another succeed.

At Joyce University, we believe meaningful work and a meaningful workplace go hand in hand. We offer a benefits package designed to support you both professionally and personally.

  • 12 paid holidays each year.
  • 401(k) retirement plan to help you plan for the future.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for someone who combines strong regulatory knowledge with sound judgment, curiosity, relationship-building skills, and the confidence to speak up when something needs attention.

Required

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in compliance, accreditation, or regulatory affairs within higher education, preferably nursing or health sciences.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state higher education regulations, professional licensing requirements, and accreditation standards, such as NWCCU, CCNE, or ACEN.
  • Experience supporting accreditation reviews, regulatory reporting, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly to different audiences.
