RTX Corporation is an Aerospace and Defense company that provides advanced systems and services for commercial, military and government customers worldwide. It comprises three industry-leading businesses – Collins Aerospace Systems, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon. Its 185,000 employees enable the company to operate at the edge of known science as they imagine and deliver solutions that push the boundaries in quantum physics, electric propulsion, directed energy, hypersonics, avionics and cybersecurity. The company, formed in 2020 through the combination of Raytheon Company and the United Technologies Corporation aerospace businesses, is headquartered in Arlington, VA.

The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

This role will report to the VP of ES OSCQ Apps and support the definition of the Enterprise Services “OneRTX” future‑state vision for Connected Factory planning, execution, visualization, and near‑real‑time data orchestration, along with the corresponding digital enablement roadmap.

This Director will lead the development and sustainment activities for innovative, compliant IT digital architecture with a primary focus on Connected Factory capabilities—including Ignition-based manufacturing applications, event-driven data brokers, automated tier boards, action trackers, and related digital continuity solutions. This role will shape IT solutions that span enterprise-level applications and factory‑specific digital capabilities across RTX’s three business units—Raytheon, Pratt & Whitney, Collins Aerospace—and corporate functions, with a primary focus on advancing connected manufacturing and real‑time operational excellence enablement.

As a recognized technical leader, the candidate will help define, implement and sustain enterprise architecture direction, establish technology standards, and deliver actionable strategies that drive RTX’s factory modernization goals. This individual will be responsible for aligning and coordinating multiple Connected Factory initiatives across the business units, integrating emerging technologies, and guiding solution architecture and sustainment teams to deliver value‑driven outcomes. A major area of focus will be driving harmonization, reusability, and adoption of standardized Ignition applications, event broker patterns, tier board frameworks, and action‑tracking capabilities across the enterprise.

The position requires exceptional communication and leadership skills, as the candidate will collaborate closely with senior functional leaders, internal partners, and external vendors. A deep understanding of RTX's structure, business units, functional organizations, and global business services is highly desirable.

This position will partner with Enterprise Services and Business Unit Digital & Process teams to ensure functional requirements are met through standardized, scalable, and harmonized digital solutions. The role will also emphasize end‑user adoption of Connected Factory implementations, sustainment processes, and enhancement roadmaps.

What You Will Do

  • Establish, lead and support the Enterprise Services Connected Factory sustainment organization responsible for Ignition applications, event brokers, tier boards, and action tracker capabilities. Drive process standardization, harmonized technical enablement and measurable enterprise value.
  • Support the strategic enterprise approach to Connected Factory capability harmonization, sustainment centralization, and technology consolidation across manufacturing execution, factory visualization, digital collaboration, and event-driven integration.
  • Lead digital strategy development, oversee operational sustainment, and manage tactical processes, including people leadership across internal teams, shared services, and external partners.
  • Partner with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), operations leaders, and supply chain/manufacturing stakeholders to align technical roadmaps with enterprise objectives.
  • Expand leverage of Ignition apps, factory tier boards, action trackers, real-time event brokers, and connected manufacturing capabilities to drive factory efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Guide communities of practice, socialize architectural strategies, and educate stakeholders on best practices for Connected Factory technologies and application architecture.
  • Ensure solutions remain compliant with RTX IT policies and industry standards while minimizing complexity and maximizing scalability.
  • Collaborate across legal, digital technology, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to maintain a culture of compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • BS Degree in computer sciences, supply chain management, engineering, mathematics or related field – Related Masters Degree preferred with 14+ years of professional experience across multiple digital supply chain services and technology disciplines.
  • 12+ year’s experience leading project teams in digital or process transformation with 5+ years leading technology sustainment / Center of Excellence teams supporting business technology implementations.
  • Experience implementing and supporting Connected Factory technologies such as MES, SCADA, Ignition, event brokers, shop floor management, or digital performance management systems.
  • Experience leading multi‑year initiatives across multiple operating units and global regions with experience managing projects with 3rd‑party resources as primary execution support.
  • Experience working in complex corporations and/or Aerospace & Defense or related industries.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Direct experience working with RTX business units, functional organizations, or enterprise services, with knowledge of advanced digital manufacturing technologies such as predictive analytics, digital twins, or robotic process automation (RPA).
  • Experience with Ignition, Kafka or other event broker technologies, MES/MOM systems, SAP ECC or S/4 HANA manufacturing integrations.
  • Experience leading large‑scale enterprise architecture initiatives with a focus on factory digital transformation; highly self‑motivated, directed, and change‑oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to debate, dialogue, negotiate, influence, and collaborate constructively.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and project management best practices; PMP or similar certification a plus and a strong awareness of emerging trends in factory digital technologies and demonstrated ability to apply those insights to current business challenges.
